Apollo is a handsome 4 year old Thai Ridgeback (he is listed online as a Rhodesian Ridgeback because his true breed, Thai Ridgeback, is unfortunately not listed as an option in our shelter database). He is an energetic boy who would love to accompany you on your morning runs or your favorite hiking trails. It is important that his adopters are prepared to give him plenty of exercise to keep him healthy and happy! Although on occasion he has been know to snuggle on the couch, he absolutely loves playing and would appreciate all different kinds of toys - especially ones of the squeaky variety! He's ready for his adopter to teach him how to play fetch (he loves to chase the ball, but he doesn't quite know how to bring it back yet!). He'd also appreciate fun food puzzles like Kongs stuffed with tasty peanut butter to keep him mentally stimulated all day long. Apollo is looking for a house (no apartments please) with children over the age of 12. He needs to live in a home without other dogs, without chickens and without cats. Apollo can be a bit shy at first and takes some time, love, and treats to warm up to new people. Once he is comfortable, he loves to cuddle on the couch and get lots of pets. He is a smart boy and would benefit from positive reinforcement training so that he can bond with you over a shared activity. Shaka is a 4 year old mix who is super spoiled and lovable. She loves to play fetch, catch and hide and seek. She is also the perfect cuddle buddy and loves to lay around and watch movies or nap with her family. She is an inside dog but loves to go on hikes and walks with her family. Shaka has traveled all over the U.S. having visited several National Parks and Monuments! She would be best in a family as the only pet, as she does not get along with other animals.

I got Leo when he was just a few months old from my dads Nieghbor He is now 2 1/2. He grew bigger than I expected. He is very loving to the people he knows plus his best friend George (small dog). He also loves my daughters dog. But is reactive to dogs he doesn’t know. He is attached to my grandkids, family members and close friends. But he can be aggressive to people he doesn’t know. When he gets to know them he is super sweet. I have had him in two different training groups and he seems to enjoy training exercises I love him so much but feel like I’m letting him down. I work long hours on some days so he’s left alone. I’m also very small and have a very hard time walking him if he pulls. He loves to run and jump in tall grass, he loves the water but hasn’t swam yet. He so beautiful and deserves a better life than I am able to give him.

Reeses found herslf along with her best friend abandoned after a divorce. Mom left with the children and dad just turned them out to roam the RV Park. They were picked up by Animal Control and are now in Atascosa Animal Allies care. Reeses loves to play ball and carries it with her everywhere she goes just in case the oppurtinity arrises to play! Her foster says she is the BEST listener! You can tell her to "lay down, that's enough ball" and she does it! She is super chilled and wants to be by you! She is kid and dog friendly!

Meet SNOOPY! He is an 8 month old Catahoula mixand is a very special critter! He was born with a congenital defect and his eyes didn’t completely develop.  This doesn’t slow him down for one second! He loves to run, jump and play! He especially loves kids and he is good with cats.  Snoopy weighs about 40 pounds and has a little more to grow.  He needs a weeeee bit of manners training just because he is SO foot loose and fancy free.  I don’t think this kid has a serious bone in his body! If you are looking for a friend for your dog or a great kid dog, this is it!
