Story
Welcome Ford to CCPAL. He is a 2-year-old Rottie/Lab mix from KCAS. He was in the Kerr County Shelter and on the short list for euthanasia when our friends let us know he was a good dog and needed more time to find his forever home. Ford is agile and athletic and will make a great companion. He bonds deeply and will be a good protector of his people. He is very smart and responsive. He just has a protective nature but very attentive and will listen to you when you say they are friends. He is very good with the dominant dogs in the rescue and does not challenge them. He respects their position and only wants to be with the people. He would make a wonderful companion for the woman and family that the man travels. He will be there for you and keep the family safe. We love Ford and cannot wait to find his forever home where he can be loved as much as he loves. He would be perfect for the outdoorsy and active type. He settles down nicely too. He is about 45 pounds and a nice weight at that size. He is shorter than the traditional Rottie but has the look and the bigger head. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. He can be transported with one of the wonderful transporters we work with to Washington, Portland, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. See his cute video

This is Roxy she is a sweet 4 year old Rottie. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old but unfortunately due to recent changes no longer have the time she deserves to give her attention. She is a puppy stuck in an 80 lb body. She loves to cuddle and go on long walks. So looking for a home with a big yard for her to run around and a family who loves to play.

Hi, my name is Goliath and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Nov 25, 2023. Everyone calls me a “Goofball,” I’m not sure what that means but I know it has the word “ball” in it! Bringing a smile to my person’s face is what I do best and I’m ready to make every day as fun as I can. I think I’m the happy, funny pup for you!

Story
Sergeant is a very well trained and well behaved Rottweiler. He gets a little mouthy sometimes, and has a big personality. He has never bitten anyone or injured anyone at all. He does growl and bark when he has something he should not, and can get quite intimidating, but will not bite. More or less it’s just his way of throughout a fit. Unfortunately we cannot keep him die to living situations.

Story
Aldo is a good boy. I bought him from a breeder back in 2012. He's 7 but he has some health issues. He has an auto-immune disease and he needs to constantly be on steroids otherwise he has major skin problems. The steroids have taken most of his vision, his hips aren't in the best shape due to the steroids and the vet says he'll only be around as long as his kidneys hold up. Good news is he just went into the vet and they said he's doing very well and has a few more years yet. He can see close up, sort of but can't see very far. His pills aren't horribly expensive but that and the fact that my housing/marital situation has changed and my job doesn't lend to me being home a lot has put me in a really tough spot. When I was living with my ex, she had another dog that they got from the pound and they fought. It seemed like the problem was the other dog and not Aldo but I'm not 100% sure. He is fine around other dogs. I really just need someone who can take care of him where I can't.

Story
Welcome Banjo. Available through CCPAL He is 3.5-year-old Boxer/Lab or Dalmatian mix. He was a house dog and so we notice he holds it in his kennel to go in the yard. He is good with other dogs and about 55 pounds. We are working on his leash manners and he is coming along nicely. The owners that turned him in did say he was house trained. He is good in a car and will make some family a good companion. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or transported to the East Coast, Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois or Vermont. He loves other dogs and has lived in a home with another dog so he probably would prefer a home with another dog. He has the most adorable markings on his face. Looks like he had a rough night and was tired when putting on his makeup. He missed his eyelid on one eye and slipped with the eyeliner on the other eye. He and his brother can be adopted separately. He is up on his shots, neutered, healthy and ready for his forever home. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. Story
Welcome Guilley to CCPAL. He is a 1.5-year-old Boxer/Terrier mix. He has the most adorable wonky ears. He is very active and will be great for a runner, hiker or outdoorsy enthusiast. He is best in a harness and pulls some when another dog is there to play with. He probably wasn’t raised with another dog. A dog who has been around other dogs can read the ques that you are irritating them. He misses some of the ques so he can be too energetic for the more laid-back dogs. Troy has done an amazing job with him and he can now play off lead with 5 other alphas in the rescue off leash. That being said, he would be a great family pet with older kiddos due to his energy and someone who is athletic. He would be an AMAZING running partner and since he was raised as an only dog, we would like to keep him as an only dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with a transporter to deliver him to the East Coast, Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Vermont. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. For some active family this boy will be a great fit. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application.
