Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comWon't you walk with me and talk to me and tell me that I am home? I spent the first 3 years of my life in a yard with nearly 100 other dogs. This made me fearful of people and of touch. Foster Mom and Dad have been working with me and giving me lots of attention. Dad says I am one of the best walkers he has ever fostered, and I never tire out! Already, I will wag my tail when I see someone. I don't want them to leave. I like to have my bed in the living room or bedroom so I am close to my people. If they leave the house, I like to lay in my big crate where I feel safe. I still don't like to be cuddled but I do like to be petted. Are you willing to take things slowly with me? I'll be your forever love! My DNA results are amazing! 12 1/2 % each of Scottish Terrier, Yorkie, and Chihuahua. The other 62 1/2 % is mixed within the Sporting Group (maybe Standard Poodle), the Terrier Group (c/b wheaten), Companion Group and lastly the Wild Canids which is coyote or wolf.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON WHITTIER ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Whittier is being fostered in Sparks, NV in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!LEARN OUR 'ADOPTION FAQS': Any questions that you may have about our adoption process, fees, transporting a dog, and our policy not to adopt to families with small children, can be answered at our main website or going directly to this link: https://www.cairnrescue.com/service/faq/ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION. Story
Shelby's medical costs to date: $1,013.03 Shelby should be adopted by a family that has the time, patience and experience to care for a blind dog. She startles easily and should not be around small children. ------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 10-8-18  Shelby was groomed and looks and feels FANTASTIC!  She has almost completely recovered from her 11 dental extractions and we are now slowly increasing her food mix from all soft food to both wet & dry.  She remains on antibiotic medications. Shelby came to us when her human could no longer care for her. Shelby is an adorably sweet Scottie who lost her sight some time ago.  Shelby is completely blind. Our first priority was taking her to our vet for a complete physical, blood tests, fecal and urinalysis, in addition to testing for heartworms, Ehrlichia , Anaplasmosis and Lyme disease.  Shelby needed a dental in the worst way, which was done the following morning.  Sadly, she lost 11 teeth to decay. In just 48 hours, we have already expended over $750.00 for this precious girl and are asking for help with her medical costs.  A donation button is located on our website: www.scottiekingdom.com or Donations may be made via PayPal to email address: Donate@scottiekingdom.com   or via USPS, to PO Box 551265 ~ Dallas, TX   75355 - - - - - - - - - - - - - All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. have had a full medical exam by one of our licensed Veterinarians, which includes testing (and treatment, if necessary) for Heartworm disease, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, all necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, dental cleaning as necessary, microchipping, registration of the microchip, and any other medical needs each particular dog may need. Copies of all available medical records are transferred to you when the adoption is finalized. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie, Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible.   We do NOT ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart, and in your home, for a Scottie (or any of our other available rescue dogs), please visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet session with our available dogs.   If you have existing dogs, they should travel to Dallas with you, so we can be assured that they will be compatible with the new addition to your family. Please contact us at Rescue@scottiekingdom.com   to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process.  Also, please take the time to visit our website www.scottiekingdom.com for additional information. We sometimes receive several applications on the same dog. Our goal is to place the dog in the best home possible, based on his/her needs, personality and past history. Please note:  Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis.  Submitting an application does not guarantee the adoption of any dog.   We are looking for the best available home for each of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your understanding, and for considering adoption! Medical costs to date:  $421.44 Claire has now been to our vet and we have taken care of her current medical needs, such as flea dermatitis, ear infection, skin infection, intestinal parasites, vomiting, and diarrhea.  This cutie  pie was just groomed and her coat is growing back in where there was hair loss due to flea dermatitis.  She has started her monthly flea and heartworm prevention, which should be continued throughout her life. Claire LOVES attention and to be near her humans. She will happily sit in your lap during TV time and will give a gentle nudge if she isn't receiving all of the attention she craves!  Claire is 11yo and quite the charmer. - - - - - - - This beautiful little girl has just arrived at our rescue and will be visiting our vet for all of her medical needs.  Once we receive test results, we will update her bio.  Claire is 11yo, and adorable! Story
Arya came to us as an owner surrender; as she prefers a home all to herself!  She is a sweetheart to all humans, but doesn't appreciate other dogs "getting in her face".  She is approximately 5+ years old.  She has some flaky skin from a prior flea infestation. This should be kept in mind when choosing a high quality food and any supplements a vet may suggest.  Local adoptions only; No small children; Prior Scottie/Westie experience required. All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. have had a full medical exam by one of our licensed Veterinarians, which includes testing (and treatment, if necessary) for Heartworm disease, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, all necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, dental cleaning as necessary, microchipping, registration of the microchip, and any other medical needs each particular dog may need.
