Update from Edwards Foster Mum Edward is a very soft, kind gentle little soul, he enjoys for you to rub his belly & give him lots of love once he has built trust with you. We have not even heard Edward bark yet. He absolutely adores his toys & likes to keep his stuffed toys with him & loves to be on big comfy blankets & his bed. He has come along way since we first got him, he did not want to move or do anything & was completely shut down but now his beautiful personality has slowly come out. Edward already had a very rough start to his life. His mum Ella was found on the streets on Beijing & then taken to a shelter in China where she was in the shelter for almost all of her life but ended up being pregnant & a rescuer looked after her while having her 3 beauty little puppies. The rescuer was paying for Ella & her babies to stay at this shelter so nothing would happen to them while trying to find someone to further help them. The rescue let us know that someone in Seattle had adopted her daughter & that Ella & her 2 other puppies were still there & needed help so we rescued all 3. Poor Edward ended up staying in the shelter his whole life along with his brother until we were able to bring him home where we are now looking for that amazing family to continue to change his life. Edward has the personality of his mum & his brother to, he also takes everything in, but is a lot more shy & reserved & needs time to build that bond of trust with people. He also is a watcher, he will just sit calmly & take everything in around him even if there is craziness going on around him. Edward needs a home where his new people will be patient with him because everything is very new to him as he has never had a warm bed or blankets, he has never slept inside a loving home, he has never had his own toys or a walk with a family around the neighborhood, nor ever seen or heard a tv in the background so every little detail is new to this sweet little man. Edward enjoys his food especially wet food as this was the first time of every having it along with treats. Edward also finds comfort in dogs, so a dog he can snuggle with is something very important for in his new forever home. Edward has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs including his beloved brother so he must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home as he truly loves other dogs & is very dependent & needing of other dogs, they make him feel secure. Edward is is roughly 22.0 lbs, 12 months old, male & maybe a Schnauzer Carin Terrier mix & still needs to put on weight which we are working on, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative & dewormed. Edward has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We are calling Edward a sheltie beagle mix based on looks. We do not know for sure what breed Edward is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Edward’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Edward & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Edward who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this special chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Edward has an adoption fee of $650

The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. Doris (Katie) had a very rough start to life. As a young dog in China she was sold to the slaughter truck. Our fearless Chinese rescue partners intercepted the truck on the way to the slaughter house and managed to save Doris and the rest of the pups on the truck. After this first rescue, Doris lived in a outdoor rescue with 4000 other dogs and often didn’t get enough food to eat. Doris was fortunate to have been spotted by our Rescue Sister who scooped her up and brought her back to her much smaller rescue to get her prepared to fly to Seattle. Doris is currently in a foster home with other dogs and teen boys and is adjusting well. Doris is very fond of her foster family and wasted no time getting attached to them. She is happiest by your side and that includes snuggling up to you in bed. Doris has not been around young children but adores the teen boys in her foster home. Doris is indifferent towards the cat in the foster home. It is always up to the new family to be responsible with introducing new pets and in all interactions with pets and children. Doris loves other dogs & must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home, this is mandatory. Doris is about three years old and weighs about 14lbs. Based on her appearance we believe she is a corgi mix. She has been spayed, is current on all vaccines including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, and rabies. Doris is microchipped, and has been wormed twice. Doris will need work with potty training and general obedience. This sweet girl has been through trauma and many transitions in her short life and is depending on us to find her the best forever home possible. With that in mind we are looking for a home where another dog is present. She needs a home that is able to be patient with the transition, willing to work with a trainer if necessary, and able to give her unconditional love. Please only submit an application if you are ready to adopt now and willing to go through our process. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. We do not hold onto dogs for people who are not ready to commit. Please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately not able to respond to everyone. We appreciate your understanding. Doris has an adoption fee of $1200

The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. Leon had a very rough start to life. He was born in a breeding business where he and his littermates spent their entire life in an overcrowded wire cage. There was never enough food to eat or clean water and no bed or toys or kind humans. After being passed over by buyers he was getting to the age where he couldn’t be sold for top dollar so he and 4 littermates were at high risk of ending up in the meat trade. Thankfully our rescuer partner in China intervened and asked if ASTR could find homes for these sweet corgi pups. Leon is currently in a foster home with other dogs and is adjusting well. In the past, Leon has not been handled nicely by humans and he is initially timid and hand shy. He’s starting to get the hang of toys and learning to walk on a leash. His favorite thing is definitely food. When it time to eat he will nibble at your ankles to let you know he's ready for his food. Leon has not been around young children but does fine with the teens in his foster home. It is always up to the new family to be responsible with introducing new pets and in all interactions with pets and children. Leon is about 6 months old and weighs about 15lbs. Based on his appearance we believe he is a corgi. He has been neutered, is current on all vaccines including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, and rabies. Leon is microchipped, and has been wormed twice. Leon will need work with potty training and general obedience. This sweet boy has been through trauma and many transitions in his short life and is depending on us to find him the best forever home possible. He needs a home that is able to be patient with the transition, willing to work with a trainer if necessary, and able to give him unconditional love.
