Foster location: Boise, ID Breed: Poodle Age: 17 year Spayed, Vaccinated, Microchipped Adoption Fee: $50.00 Adoption Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Mitzi came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when she was turned into the shelter in McCall. They reached out to us to place her in foster care because a shelter is no place for a 17 year old dog! If Mitzi could bend her legs to sit in the lotus position she would be a Zen teacher to all; she is calm, easy going and of so sweet. Mitzi spends most of her time sleeping (who doesn't at that age), but will come to find you when she needs some pets and affection. She loves chicken and canned dog food. Her lack of teeth makes kibble difficult to chew and as a consequence she is a bit underweight; but with a consistent diet and allowing her to eat whenever she wishes this will fix itself; she needs to put on about 4 pounds. Other than being underweight she is pretty healthy; she does have a heart murmur but shows no signs of congestive heart failure at this time. Mitzi would do best in a household with a lot of patience and quiet. She doesn't always let you know that she needs to go outside to use the bathroom, so giving her many opportunities a day to head into the backyard suits her best. In her foster home, it took her just a few days to get used to the house layout and the daily routine. Her hearing and eyesight are poor, but she makes up for it with her smarts. She is fine with the other small dogs in her foster home and we believe she would be fine with a cat as well. No kids please.
