Story
Hi there! Welcome to my page! I'm Beckham Barkley and I'm looking for a new family. Could you be the one? Here's my stats: Possible Breed: Probably Shih Tzu and Chihuahua Gender: I’m a guy Colors: Stunning, black and gray Age: 6 years young Weight: About 10 pounds Ideal Home: I'm flexible but probably no young kids-I'll explain below Now for the good stuff!- So I am really a striking dog. My color and my hair make me unique! My foster mom says that I may be a little dog but I have a BIG personality (as do most Chihuahuas). Hey, know what I really love? Laps! I love to sit on laps so if you are looking for a companion to hang out with you and, be close to you, I'm your guy! I do need to tell you that I can be possessive of my food bowl. Ya know, living without enough food before I got to Lone Star, can make a fellow worry. So it would be best if I live in a house without little kids because they wouldn't really understand to stay back when I'm eating. And I would never want to get carried away and nip a little kid. So best that I live with teenagers or adults! When I came to LS, I had mange but it's been under control for a long time. If I have a flair up, there's a bit of medication I can take to get back on track. Otherwise, I'm healthy Start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com. PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done: Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it. Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE. Spay/Neuter-of course. A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do. A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys. A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out. See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.

Hi there, I’m glad to see you checking out my page! I’m Shazam Davis and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you? Here’s my stats: Possible Breed: Shih Tzu / Lhasa Apso Gender: I’m a boy dog Colors: Beige with a little black Age: They think I am about 11 years old, no one knows and I’m not telling! Weight: 12 lbs-ish, I LOVE to eat and even though I’m mostly blind, my foster mom says I could find a morsel of food in a haystack! Special Needs: requires daily drops for my dry eye Ideal Home: Anywhere with people that will be patient with my lack of eyesight, I’m still not sure how to let them know I have to go outside to potty. Now for the good stuff! I am a very loving and patient doggy. I get around by smelling and boy do I have a good nose. I can’t hear very well either, but I can feel vibrations and wind and just walk around until I find a comfy bed to lay on. When I get tired of resting, I walk around and sniff things out and find another comfy bed! My favorite thing is to have you scratch my back and my belly and I love the attention. I am a good car rider too. If you won’t let me lay in your lap, I’ll sit very well in the front seat. If you want to know more about me, please email my foster at anettemarie123@hotmail.com. Here’s my stats: Possible Breed: A Shih Tzu Gender: I’m a guy, an hombre…all boy Colors: I’m brownish-tan Age: The vet says about 11 Weight: Around 15 pounds Ideal Home: I’m flexible. I could live as an only dog or I can live in a home with other dogs. Now for the good stuff!- Let me tell you a little about me. I’m mostly a laid-back dude. I like to stay close to my person and I like attention. I’m not shy, no, I will tell let you know when I want something. A little bossy is a description that has been mentioned but I prefer to say I am sure of what I think and want! Right?! I get along just fine with the other dogs in my foster home but I can see myself as your one-and-only too. I do just fine in the car and I am good in a crate. I don’t really care for toys too much, kind of beneath me, you know? My foster mon says I am a sweet dog! I get daily eye drops for my dry eyes-a condition that is common in Shih Tzu and I do well with that. My vision is limited but I get along just great and it doesn’t slow me down. My foster mom says, “Quintus figured out how to climb the little stairs that go up to my bed even with his vision limits. He’s a smart dog!” For more information, email my foster mom at doggiefoster1950@yahoo.com. Story
Hi there potential new family! I’m Luther Cartwright and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you? Here’s my stats: Possible Breed: Lhasa Apso Gender: I’m a boy Colors: Cream Age: The vet says about 4 years old Weight: Around 24 pounds Special Needs: Well, I’m gonna get it right out there. I wasn’t treated well in my 4 years so I am known as a ‘fear biter’. In the past, when they tried to hurt me, I learned to bite them so they would stop. Now, even though I am not being hurt, when I get scared, sometimes I bite. I am getting better and better but still, it’s there so I can’t live with little kids. I wouldn’t want to hurt them. I also need a little medicine when I get groomed because that really scares me. Ideal Home: I get along with other dogs so I can live in a home with both boy and girl dogs. Or, I can live in a home as an only dog. Just can’t live with kids. Now for the good stuff!- I’m not what you call a rowdy boy. I’m pretty laid back, that is until it’s time for FOOD! I like food and I know when it’s time to eat. Matter of fact, if you’re late with food, I’ll bark and remind you what time it is! I get along with boy and girl dogs though I’m not much for playing yet. I am still learning to trust at my foster home so I am spending more and more time with the family and less time off by myself. Still working on that too. I have started going after a tennis ball though I’m not really sure what to do with it when I get it. I really like to go for a walk and if you hold up my leash, I know it’s time to go outside! I don’t bark at the neighbor dogs when we pass by. I ride really well in the car and I go into my crate when you tell me too. I’m not on any medication. My foster mom says, “Luther has a great trick and we call him the ‘Leaping Lion’. That’s because of his color and his ability to leap high in the air! He does it especially when food is involved and it’s really amazing how high he can jump when he gets excited.” If you want to know more about me, email my foster at cindymc12903@yahoo.com. Start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com. PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot.
