NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! Shelby came into the rescue when her owner had a baby and decided to get rid of both of her dogs. Shelby had been with her since she was a puppy, and was very depressed when we took her in. After a few weeks, she started to come out of her shell and has proven to be a very charming, sweet dog. She is currently being fostered with two other dogs, and is very respectful of them, and knows how to share. While she's good with other dogs, she would be fine as an only dog getting all the attention. She's very focused on her person and likes to follow her foster mom around like her little shadow. When her foster mom gives her attention, Shelby wags her tail joyfully and is just happy to be with her. She's a very submissive dog and will offer you her belly and kisses every day. Shelby's foster mom describes her as a super sweet, low-key pup who loves to snuggle. While she likes going for walks and needs her daily exercise to stay healthy, she's not going to be your jogging buddy. She's building up her endurance, but prefers short walks, especially when the temperatures are warm. She likes to stroll at her own pace and is at peace with the world around her. She is a pretty passive pup but gets excited for walks, affection, and food time. She has excellent house manners and has not had a single accident in her foster home, or ever been destructive. She sleeps on her foster mom's bed soundly through the night and loves to be close. She wants affection but is not pushy about it, and is just a perfect little girl. This awesome pup is an ideal fit for a retired person or empty nesters who have a calm home and flexible schedule to spend time with her. Shelby deserves a family who can see how wonderful she is and can give her a great life in a loving home.
