She was still a kitten herself when she became a mother. Another group rescued Lexi's kittens, but left her at the shelter. NTCR quickly pulled Lexi from the shelter when we discovered what happened. The sudden separation from her kittens and move to her own foster home was a difficult transition. On top of it, Lexi immediately came down with a respiratory infection. She made a full recovery after a couple weeks, but the stress left a mark on Lexi. For this reason, Lexi can be a little nervous and cautious around humans. She does eventually warm up and will seek out attention, but it has to be initiated by her. When she is comfortable, she turns into a love bug. I (her foster mom) can always tell when Lexi wants to be loved on. She sits directly in front of me and stares into my soul. She really is a sweet kitty with a gentle personality. Lexi desperately wants to be friends with all the cats in her foster home. She would love to have another kitty in her new home for companionship. Lexi loves naps on the couch and cat tree. She sleeps at the foot of my bed every night.
