Story
Chanel and Cookie were found running in and out of traffic on a busy highway in Houston. They were both full of fleas and were very dirty. Both were also full of hookworms. Chanel (the white with brown and tan female) was in heat and looked like she had just finished nursing a litter of puppies and was also underweight, coming in at 9 pounds. Chanel is also heartworm positive. Cookie (the brown and tan female) is still a puppy, so she tested heartworm negative, but she was underweight, as well, coming in at 7 pounds. Both dogs are very sweet and quiet and get along great with their foster's resident animals. We think Cookie may be a puppy of Chanel. They have been to our vet and have been treated for the fleas and hookworms and have been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Chanel has been started on the slow-kill heartworm treatment protocol, as well. These two girls are obviously very, very bonded and we are looking for a home for them where they can stay together. Where one is, the other is always right there and they will cry for each other if separated. Please don't ask us to separate them. They are no problem for their foster mom, as long as they are together. Chanel and Cookie are currently in their foster home in Houston, Texas.

Lily is a 2.5 year old chiweenie, who does not bark at all. She is so timid and docile, and obedient. She is used to staying with dogs, and does not get bothered by them. She is a gem of a girl, housebroken and so very tolerant. After the initial shyness, she attaches to her human immediately. To meet this sweet girl, please contact savesomesoulsrescue@gmail.com

Story
Oreo is a 14 months old, female, 23 lbs, Rat Terrier. Oreo is a very happy, active little girl who loves to cuddle. She is learning to master the game of fetch. Oreo is house broken and kennel trained, she lets you know when she needs to go outside. We are currently working on leash training. She is extremely smart and willing to learn. All she wants to do is please her human! Oreo is great with other dogs, actually she LOVES playing chase and wrestling with other dogs. She is cats friendly and would be an amazing playmate for any kiddo or running partner for any adult. Oreo, like a typical rat terrier has plenty of energy, but she also loves her snuggle couch time! To adopt Oreo, please apply at www.hhfrescue.org. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

Story
My name if Freya.   I'm a one and half year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix and weigh 13 lbs. I was abandoned in a scary area with big trucks and a lot of traffic.  I stayed there for 3 days waiting for my family to come back and get me, but they never did. The nice lady who was feeding me decided it was safer to find a new home for me. I'm really glad that nice lady took me home.  I got to see the vet and found out that I have heart worms, and that made me really sad, but I am being treated for that. If you adopt me, the rescue will pay for my heart worm treatment until I test negative.  My last test said I was low heart worm positive so I am getting better! I am potty trained and kennel trained, although I have peed in the house a few time when it was stormy outside or if my foster doesn't pick up on my need to go outside. I like to snuggle and play catch and will even bring the toy back to you. I like to cuddle up for nap time and sleep next to my human at night. I don't know commands yet, but I'm working on that. I can walk on a leash, but I'm still practicing with that too. I'd probably be best around older kids and adults.  I like to jump a lot and may accidentally nip when playing, and I wouldn't want to hurt anyone.  I like to play with the cats, and that new kitten beats me up sometimes.  Even though we get along my foster mom doesn't leave me alone with them just in case someone may accidentally get hurt. I do sleep next to the kitten at night, I like that. We just got through a holiday with fireworks. I did NOT like those at all, especially when they were close. Loud noises make me shake sometimes until I feel I'm safe.  I do calm down with a nice hug and cuddling though.  Eventually I just slept right through it with my thundershirt. If you have any questions, please contact hhfrescue@gmail.com.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org.The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us.
