Story
Ollie is a 3 yr old treeing walker hound dog we bought him from a hound dog breeder at 8 wks old. He is a very loyal, loving, and protective dog who loves people he has lots of energy loves to play fetch, tug of war, catch toys in the air, etc. He would be a great hunting dog or just a family dog. Unfortunately, there are several reasons we have to find Ollie a new home first of all I have developed allergies to him, second our careers have changed from a home based daycare to working outside the home leaving Ollie home alone for 8-10 hrs a day. Lastly, Ollie has developed skin allergies of his own that after several visits to the vet we have not been able to resolve. The vet thought it was food allergies, but we have completely changed his diet to a high protein Kangaroo diet, no table food, no treats, and Rx meds for his itching, which has helped somewhat to control, but not a cure. I truly believe his skin sensitivities are environmental and sadly we can no longer care for him.

Story
Arlo is looking for his fur-ever home!  Arlo came to us when his owners both had to be hospitalized.  He has been around toddlers and children and is great with him.  He is also great with other dogs.  He does chase cats, but takes correction very well.  He has never shown any signs of aggression to people or animals.  He is a great dog!  Arlo is a runner (due to his breed) and is difficult to recall, so he will either need to be in a home with a fenced in yard, or a family who will always keep him on a leash.  Arlo is about 3-4 years old and is currently about 30lbs.  Arlo is currently in a foster home with kids and a small bichon frise.  He is also crate trained. An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
