Story
Cooper is a wonderful dog. He is smart and very loving. We have another dog and they have always gotten along very well. He is however, a very anxious dog and I’m unsure of how he would respond to a new dog. We have 3 young children and he is great with them. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 7yrs. We live in an area where we have several kids in and out of our front door every single day (there are 16 kids in our culdesac) Walking in our front door triggers his protectiveness and he’s started biting people at the door. Luckily, he’s small and hasn’t done significant damage to anyone, but it’s terrifying and traumatic for the kids. No one wants that call that the neighbors dog has bitten their child. We have house rules about putting him in his crate when someone comes to the door, etc but in the rare circumstance that it gets missed it ends badly. He’s a great dog but the revolving door of traffic is not an appropriate fit for him.
