Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/28/2020 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release to SC shelter, Owner could not contain Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs?  Bella Grace needs a dental - this should be done by end of March. Weight: 36 lb Height: 25 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, becuse once her nose hits the ground shes following whatever she smells!  Nosework anyone?  She's a great candidate.   What kind of home would be best for me? Bella Grace needs a home where she can have some one on one special time.  She adores people and goes looking for them. She has been through a lot in her life. A home with other dogs would do her well too.  She is very, very friendly and loves to have other dogs around. Bella will need a moderate amount of exercise - and she loves to sniff so long walks with her nose down would be ideal for her.  Because she follows her nose, a fence is must needed for her also; she hits the ground running with that nose! Even though we have not tried her with any children, her temperament is so calm and loving that we think older kids would be great for her! What is my personality like? Bella is very laid back, she has such a loving side and loves people and other dogs. She loves to run and play in the field and have that nose on the ground smelling!! Like we said Bella has been through a lot but despite all of that, her tail never stops wagging from being happy and excited! She will need some basic training but she is very smart so she would catch on fast! Bella is a sweet and very special girl, and it would not take her long to make an impact on your heart!!  How do I act when I first meet new people? Very happy and excited Other tips and tidbits: est Birthdate 2/28/2012.  Bella is a hound and a hound is a single minded dog with the ability to focus focus focus on a scent.  To know this is to understand a hound. They are not as multi talented as a poodle, but they have sweet and loving personalities.  They need time to learn to be the house dog they want to be and understanding on your part that they have single track attention spans and anything that smells good takes priority in that one track mind! Please note the shelter paperwork says Bella is 4 but our vet feels she is at least 8 - and she has had harship in her life.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Fannie was found as a stray.  She was placed in a home last year but had to return due to the health of her owner. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs?  In early 2019, Fannie had a mammary tumor that was malignant. When removed, there were good margins. Fannie now has generalized proliferative gum disease which is covering most of teeth especially upper left maxillary area .  General epulides may need local resection of left upper canine area probably benign process. Weight: 44 lbs Height: 19-20 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $I am priceless!  Fence needed? Fannie would love a fenced in area to explore in.. Or just a lot of walks. What kind of home would be best for me? Fannie is looking for her retirement home somewhere - maybe on a farm - where she can bask in the sunshine and go on lots of nature walks. She is a diva and slept in the bed with her owner. She loves hotdogs, they are her favorite treat.  She'll dance for a hotdog treat when she is indifferent to other foods. What is my personality like? Fannie is an older lady but not too old! She still loves to wander through the woods and play a little with dogs of her size who are laid back. When she is outside there is nothing stopping her nose from working. Fannie could sniff and roam all day long and come home to soak her paws and take it easy. That would be the perfect life for Fannie! She doesn't ask for much! Fannie gets carried away while on a leash so a harness would be best to walk her with since she likes to pull. Fannie's story is short and sweet... she was found as a stray in South Carolina and taken to a local shelter.. but now she is at the farm! We found her a great home last year but health declined and she came back to us.  She seems happy here.  Fannie loves to run in our play fields and is very active for her age.  We give her as much time in he field as possible.  She loves to sunbathe.   How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly.. but it is hard to get Fannie's attention with her nose to the ground. As many hounds, she is more of a roommate than a cuddly companion. She loves her family but she has her own dance space. She'll respect your space and you can respect hers.  Other Tips and Tidbits: Est birthdate 08/30/2011,  Fannie would like to be an only dog or she could do well with laid back dogs. She does not want a hyper, active dog in her home. She has helped foster kittens House trained?  Fannie is one of our dogs we allow free roam of her cottage. She and her best buddy Liberty sleep on dog beds, not in crates.  Let our regularly, Fannie has proven reliable in the house. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.  We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
