Story
This stunner is Stella. Stella has a love of life much larger than herself. She would love to be someone's companion. Her favorite place to be is snuggled up with a person or in front of a heater. Stella does have some quirks that will need noted to find a perfect home for her! She gets over stimulated in crazy environments and that can cause her to react. She currently lives with 5 dogs and a cat and does great with them all unless things get over the top crazy. She is starting to learn to go to her kennel when she needs a break. We feel she would do best in a home with other calm, quiet pets that like to play from time to time. A home with older children would be fine but young children might be a little much for her. Stella has also shown some tendencies for resource guarding of her food or high value treats. We work with this routinely and she has come a long way but she would do best if she had a space that was her own for eating. Stella also has some kennel anxiety when we leave. She will sleep in her kennel fine but when we leave she cries. She is improving on this but she wouldn't be a great candidate for apartment living because of this. Lastly, we have encountered a few men she did not care for but she loves more than she doesn't so we will certainly want to get everyone to meet her to ensure she is comfortable with each person. Stella is spunky, quirky and so much fun. We hope to find her a home where she can get the love and security she needs to continue to blossom in to a wonderful best friend! Stella is just over 2 years old and is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $225.00 and if you would like to see if she is a good fit for you and you for her head to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to submit the Dog adoption application.
