Mac is a 5 - 6 year old Chihuahua-Whippet mix with a lot of love to give to the right person willing to show him patience and assurance.  He is happiest spending all his time in a calm environment and being the center of his owners attention.  Mac is slow to warm up, but once you earn his trust he is very sweet and loyal.  While is house and crate trained, Mac seems to do best when he can look out a window or curl up in a quite spot in the house.  Mac is best suited to be the only pet in the house and with older considerate children. If you are interested in adopting Mac visit charlottespca.org/adopt/. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***

Story
Hello my name is Chutney and I am two years old and believed to be a Whipped/Rat terrier mix. I am 27 pounds and full grown. I am up to date on shots, microchipped and have been spayed. I found myself in the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston TC as a stay and nobody came to look for me or to pick me up. I was down to my last day when my rescue tagged me and sent someone to pick me up. I am now in a boarding facility where I get out to run and have lots of fun there. I am well behaved and want nothing more than to find me a good family who will feed me every day and show me the love and attention I deserve. I am dog selective so I should probably be an only dog. My rescue does not know anything about my past and why I am dog selective but I am a very sweet girl. I love to play ball and love to get attention. Just because I don’t get along with other dogs doesn’t mean I am a bad girl like some people may think. Once my rescue can line up a foster home for me or an adopter there to start my new journey. Please share me so hopefully someone will want to adopt me there and give me the safe and loving home that I am looking forward to. Love Chutney

Mia is so sweet and seems to do well with everybody.  She is very playful Mia is currently attending the New Leash on life Training program where she is learning basic obedience. The standard adoption fee is $150, but it may vary depending on the situation and the animal. This includes vetting such as shots, spaying or neutering, microchipping, deworming, and heartworm testing if the animal is over six months of age. Please note****  We are a volunteer organization.  Adoption events are held every Saturday 10-2 at our facility located st 2049 Badin Rd.  Most of our animals are in foster homes.  Please contact the foster if you would like to meet one of our rescues.   You may complete an application for approval to start the adoption process at www.stanlycountyhumanesociety.org, under the 'Adoption' tab.
