Story
Bear is a 2 year old purebred American Akita, with so much love to give. He was in a choking accident about a year ago and has sustained some mental damage, but he is one of the sweetest, loving dogs you will ever meet. He would need to be in a home where he is the only pet, as he can be food aggressive. He's scared of children, so I wouldn't recommend a home with kids. My family is no longer able to take care of him, so we would love to find him a loving home where he would be the center of someone's world. I don't want to surrender him to a shelter, but if I cannot find a home for him soon, he will have to be. It breaks my heart to type this as he has been my love and world for the past 2 years, but I believe he would do better in a home without 3 other dogs and 2 cats( yes, we have many animals!) I only have his best interest at heart, and hope someone will be able to love, take care of him, and let him protect and take care of you!

We acquired her in Dallas in March 2015. We potty trained her and kenal trained her. She is a playful loyal dog, she loves to roam around. Knows basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, come here). She also rarely barks. So if your looking for a quiet dog, this is the one. She gets along with other dogs. She hasn't been exposed to Cats. She has grown up around kids her whole life. We have had a couple of close calls with her nipping at our kids when they wake her up. We just don't want her to accidentally injure our kids. We are looking for someone that doesn't have kids and has a yard for her to run around in. She enjoys getting in the water and going to dog parks.

Marley Bear is a loving 9 year old full breed male Akita. His previous owner abandoned him with me. Although, I love his so much, I can't keep him due to restrictions from my landlord. Marley is very protective of his family and will make it known when the doorbell rings. He needs someone to show him daily affection and take him on walks. Marley is an INSIDE only dog. He is very large and will overheat easily in the Texas sun. He is wonderful around children and cats. Akita's are alpha dogs and it is best to only have one dog in the home. They are not pack animals, their human family is their pack. Marley does not like loud noises, such as fireworks or thunder. He will actually hide in the closet or run upstairs. Marley is really a super sweet boy and loves hugs. He does make a great companion for a single person or small family.

Caramel was unfortunately surrendered to us by her owner because her son was allergic. They described her as being good with children, cats, and other dogs. She`s got a playful side, especially with other dogs. She loves baths and has some experience with house training. She`s a pretty good leash walker, and she`s always so excited to go on walks! When she sees you with a leash she always does some vocalizing so you know she`s happy - typical Husky! She`s sweet and friendly, but she also has an independent side where she`s happy to amuse herself by zooming and goofing around. She typically has an average energy level and, after getting rid of some, she`s so happy to settle down for pets.
