Story
Hi! I'm Ivan!If you're looking for your "normal" dog you should probably just keep right on looking. My foster mahm says I'm extra special and only the most perfect family will do for me! Don't get me wrong, I like pretty much everyone I meet, dogs, kids, even cats (they don't always like me though because I think it's fun to try to herd them). It's just that while I'm young and active and extra loving, I need a family who knows how to manage my enormous curiosity and energy level, but in a way that will keep me safe and healthy. You see, my foster mahm isn't 100% sure what happened, because I was probably a street dog until she found me at a year old, but in that time, something had kinda gone wrong with my back end... I've adapted to it really well, and even had a surgery to help make it better, and I've learned to run and jump and play, but things still just don't fit together quite the way that they should. I'm still VERY active though, and I can run faster than ANY of my foster siblings! My foster mahm says I should also tell you that I'm SUPER smart. She's says I'm maybe a little too smart for my own good. She also says I can have a smart mouth because I like to talk back and tell her what I think. But I only do that because I love to play and have fun, and herd things, I really do LOVE to herd things, and sometimes she has to remind me to calm down and be polite. She told me all of that is pretty normal since I'm a husky dog and cattle dog mix, but that my mahm or dad will need to be pretty smart too, and really understand what it takes to work with my kind of temperament. To help me with learning to manage my energy levels, my foster mahm has been working with me on polite behavior. It's super hard sometimes, but I know how to sit and wait for my food, and I'll wait to eat until she gives me permission. I'll sit and wait for her to leash me for a walk, but sometimes she has to give me a minute to calm down first because I love going for walks and get really excited. I'm good in my kennel and will go lay down when she tells me to, and wait until she tells me it's ok to come out, but I like to play with anything that's in the kennel with me, so I have to have a very sturdy cot because soft beds are just too tempting to play with. Whew, I'm talkative, but that's been a lot of talking even for me! If you think you might be interested in an extra special guy like me, fill out my adoption application and my foster mahm can contact you to tell you a bit more about how truly awesome she thinks I am, and how I might be the perfect extra special addition for your home.

Story
Hey there, I'm Diesel How I ended up at a high kill shelter is beyond me. I mean look at me! It must have been after the accident- I had a hurt leg and tail, they wheeled me into a noisy place in a wheel barrel. I was saved by this rescue and have been with my foster family - after a short (nah, it was a really long time in dog years) time wearing a cast- I am good as new. My foster mom says I am sweet boy! I love to catch and eat flying insects, I will throw toys for myself and to entertain you and I would love lots of room to run and play or an active family. Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our dogs have been dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped. If old enough they are spayed or neutered, otherwise it will be noted and under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $50 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon request and proof of surgery. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable. Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE HAVE NO BRICK AND MORTAR LOCATION-- WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE, ALL DOGS ARE IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES. If we if we think your home might be a good fit, we will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application. We do check references, use social media, been verified, do phone interview/emails, and home check will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

Story
I adopted Riley about two years ago from a shelter and she is about three years old. As far as breed goes, she's definitely a mix but the website made me choose the two above. I would say she's probably some sort of Heeler mix. She is an extremely loving dog and would be best suited to a home who can give her the love and attention she deserves. Words I would use to describe her is loyal, affectionate, playful, and fun. She has some trouble getting along with larger dogs (she's very good with small dogs) though she has never bitten or attacked another dog, but she can be impatient when dogs get in her face. However, I think it would be remedied with some patient socialization, this could be fixed. I think her ideal home would be someone who has children and a big backyard for her to run around in.
