Addison is a 6 1/2 year old, female, spayed, Cattle Dog mix. She came into the rescue with her daughter April who has now been adopted. She likes playing with toys, going on walks, running in a big fenced backyard and is very treat motivated. She can be a little shy to warm up but, once she does, she is the sweetest dog you could imagine. Addison does well being crated and has not had any accidents. Here are the stats for Addison: Weight: 45 lbs Energy Level: Medium Kids: Does great with the baby currently in her foster home Dogs: She did great with her pal April when she was here. Cats: No thanks Addison is looking for her forever home!  Please submit your application to www.hhfrescue.org        The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

Story
Meet Clyde! You may remember Clyde’s sad story of cruelty and neglect.  We were shocked when we saw his pictures and heard how he had literally been strangled with a belt by his so called owner.  His strangulation caused a massive deep cut all around his neck and caused the blood not be able to circulate resulting in his face ballooning until he was unrecognizable.  He was confiscated from his owner and charges are pending.  In the meantime, we brought him into our rescue and have nursed him back to health. We could tell he didn’t know what it was like to be treated kindly, but after talking to him a bit and giving him love, he started wagging his tail. He is BEYOND sweet!!  Check him out HERE playing with his friends at daycare! We are happy to report that with the help of the vets, we provided pictures and info on the extent of his injuries to the Harris County DA's office. His former owner was prosecuted and justice was done! Clyde is about 4-5 years old and a Cattle Dog mix of sorts.  He’s friendly and fun-loving but cautious with new people until he knows you mean him no harm.  He does great with most other dogs that are medium to large in size.  He is high-energy, so he would do best in an active home and with another active dog that can play, and play, and play with him!  He’s not especially fond of cats, so a home without cats is a must. Clyde is just the sweetest, although he does get his feelings hurts easily when corrected, so he is a quick learner and pleaser.  Makes training a piece of cake! Clyde is doing fabulous in his foster home with his 2 canine siblings, but he would really love to find a forever home where he never has to worry again!  Contact us at  info@scoutshonor.org if you can help! No surprise here in Houston and considering the condition he was in, Clyde is heartworm positive, but don’t worry. Scout’s Honor is taking care of that for him and if you want to adopt Clyde before he's all clear (which would be great!) we will continue to cover the expense of his medicine and next heartworm check. We can explain it all but he's going to be just fine.     Check out Clyde playing with his friends at daycare HERE

Story
If you would like more information about Isla or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to Weiss.sallym@gmail.com or contact this number, 314-609-2227 Hello everyone! My name is Isla and I am a 3-year-old blue heeler/lab mix looking for my new forever home. I am a very sweet and smart young lady and I can’t wait to meet you. A little bit about me: I am an active gal who loves walks, hikes, runs, and rides in the car. I am a good girl on the leash and will stay by your side. I really love to play fetch and will do pretty much anything to retrieve a ball. I am extremely loyal, and my parents say I’m a little bit of a “velcro” dog, whatever that means. My favorite place to be is right by your side - I may even follow you into the bathroom! I also won’t wander away, even if you have me off my leash. In fact, I stayed right where I was supposed to be when a gate was left open all afternoon! I am very loving and promise I will always be there to happily greet you when you get home and to make you feel better when you are down. My current owners have had me since I was 8 weeks old. I am spayed, fully potty trained, have gone through obedience training, and am up to date on all of my shots. I have also consistently been on preventative heartworm and flea meds, so I’m a healthy girl! Although I’m good with other larger dogs, I am not a huge fan of smaller dogs or cats, so it would be best if I went to a home without either of those. I also might do better in a home without very young children (even though I love the ones I have lived with these last few years). Story
I'm a med tan brindle baby that loves to snuggle up to my person. I'm a little nervous with men at first but if you are willing to go slow and work with me I will open up and be your best friend. I love dogs of all sizes and even don't mind the live in cat even though he stares at me all the time. My foster mom got me a nice big dog bed but I prefer sleeping on the cat bed or her pillows. They are so much more comfy don't ya think? I am potty trained but I'm not perfect I do have accidents sometimes if I'm not let out on my regular routine. Milk bones and chicken strips are my absolute favorite snack in the entire world so if you have some I'll be your bestest friend. I love living with my foster family but I would love family of my own, could that be you?"

My approximate birthday is Aug 16, 2017. I am completely house trained. I am not crated anymore because I do so well when I am loose in the house. I have my favorite chair and that is where I sleep during the day when it's time for me to take a nap and I also sleep there at night. I walk well on a leash and enjoy going for walks. I'm a quick learner and a very good listener. I like to make my humans happy so I follow commands well. I do best when provided with stimulating toys to keep me busy. I love my Kong and activity ball. I need a home with no large dogs, no cats, and considerate children over 8 years old. Some good activities for me are walks, hikes, going out to eat at pet friendly establishments or other fun activities you enjoy doing. No apartments, please. I need a home with a wooden fully fenced backyard. If you're interested in a loving companion and a good girl I could possibly be a good fit for your family. Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit will be required prior to Dottie going to any home. Adoption fee for Dottie is $175.
