Story
Suzie is shy, but still a total sweetheart! She loves to be pet and takes it as a comfort. She also enjoys treats. The loudness and chaos of shelter life is a lot for any dog, and Suzie seems to be a sensitive soul. She gets overwhelmed and huddles in the back corner of her kennel when you first go and visit her, but she’s definitely open to being pet! She’s just unsure of herself. She relaxes more when she’s outside of her kennel where it’s a bit quieter. Suzie doesn’t seem to have much experience on a leash. They confuse her and she doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do. She sort of locks up at first, but given time and patience she will walk on it a little in the peace and quiet of a play yard. For now her preferred method of travel is being picked up and carried – especially if you wrap her in a snuggly blanket first. Suzie’s nerves don’t allow her to run and play much. She prefers to stay mostly in one spot and look around at what’s happening around her. Once she’s surveyed the scene and okayed it she’ll walk around a little bit. She still seems to have a lower energy level.

Story
Hi, Everyone.  I'm Cameron, and I want to be your new best friend! I do love every human I've ever met, and I think children are really fun!  I also like most other dogs if I'm given the chance to meet them kinda s l o w l y, and I don't particularly mind cats.  I live with some in my foster home and we just sort of leave each other alone. The kind SOCA folks that rescued my friend and me from wandering the streets all alone and afraid, took me to a vet who said I'm about 3, and that my birthday is around June 16, 2016.  Of course, vets are super smart, but sometimes they are guessing about age, and they will be the first to say so. The foster families that have loved me since my rescue seem to think I'm not much more than 2 years old.  They say I'm smart, cute, goofy and still a little "puppylike".  I'm not sure what that means, but since they always smile when they say it, I'm guessing it's  a good thing. It's said I'm probably an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and Lab mix. I'm a bit bigger than a typical Heeler, and my energy is not nearly as ferentic as theirs.  Whew!  Sometimes they even make me nervous!     I am crate trained, house trained, have all my vaccines and I don't have any nasty intestinal or heartworms.  I'm also chipped (microchipped) and snipped (neutered), so I'm ready to meet you to see if we can be besties!  My adoption fee is only $175. Please apply to adopt me so we can meet.  Just click om the Adoptables tab at www.soca-fbc.org

Story
Helios is a gorgeous, strong, and independent boy. He can be reserved at times, but he also loves a good petting session! He came into the shelter as a stray with his sibling Apollo. Apollo has since been adopted, but Helios here is still waiting his turn! Helios much prefers life outside of his kennel rather than in. He likes to have lots of toys around to entertain himself with when he`s loose in the house. He gets very excited when he sees a leash because he knows it means he`s getting to go out for a walk. He`s super smart and learns fast. He`s learned most of his basic commands in foster care and is mostly potty trained. He`s always very gentle!Helios is a friendly boy who likes to be pet, but he`s also happy to entertain himself when loose in the play yard. He has a medium energy level and settles down nicely after some exercise. He LOVES treats! We`ve also learned from his time in foster care that, while initially a little nervous around children, he opens up to them and will eventually find himself falling asleep while cuddled up to them. He`s best with grade school age kids and up. He`s also does best with women, as he tends to struggle allowing men near him. We`ve also learned that, while Helios is great with medium-large sized dogs, he`s a cat chaser so he would do best in a cat free home.
