Story
11 year old Blue is happy and playful and loves hugs. She knows sit and down, walks with minor pulling on leash and gets along with other dogs and children, but not cats. As a senior dog her adoption fee is waived for adopters 65 years old and older and $20 for everyone else. If you are interested in adopting a new pet from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out an application at https://pets.georgetown.org/adoption/adoption-contract/ and then e-mail it to animalsvc@georgetown.org . This is a temporary change to operations put in place to protect visitors, volunteers, and staff. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions. The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates). Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*. The adoption fee includes: spaying/neutering vaccinations (appropriate to species and age) heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age) de-worming medication microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly) There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown. Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information. http://pets.georgetown.org/ Georgetown Animal Shelter P.O. Story
Wrigley was going to a kill shelter and instead of allowing that to happen was taken in. During the time Wrig has become more protective, due to the nature of a cattle dog, he needs a job and some space. New landlord will not allow dogs so feel it is best to find a home for Wrig. He has become more aggressive due to old living situation and is currently at a boarder for his safety and that our new landlord will not allow dogs. Of paramount concern is that Wrigley finds a good home with someone who can take charge, give him a job to do, and ensure that he has the care he needs. We can't bring ourselves to put him in a shelter and not know that he went to a good home. He will take some work to get to his good natured loving self. He is a protective dog. He needs someone that can nurture him back to the great dog he is. We do not have the means, or experience to do any of these. We have concerns about him around children which is likely in our future.

Story
This is Tutankhamen known as “King Tut” we call him Tut for short. He was given to us by a local breeder and will be 2 years old on January 31st. I am looking for someone who will take good care of him as he is the sweetest thing in the world. He loves to cuddle and most importantly loves being around children. He gets along well with other dogs and was a joy to have. We are only seeking those that are serious about adopting him as he deserves to be with people who love him dearly. Thank you.
