Story
Welcome Roo. He is a 15 or 16-month-old Kelpie/Shepherd mix dog. He is about 70 or 75 pounds. He is a big and energetic dog. He is great with other dogs and gets along well with all personalities. He loves all people as everyone is a potential playmate. He wants to play, run, walk and hike and would be an excellent companion for an active family. He is smart and ready to take direction and allow you to show him the ropes. He is motivated to please and will make a great running, jogging or hiking companion. He would also be fine as a family dog. Due to his energy and excitement, we think kiddos 10 or older would be his best fit. He could be to exuberant for the little tikes. He is currently in Texas and is healthy and ready for his new forever home. He was pulled off the euthanasia list in one of the local Texas pounds by Mandy and her family. He has been in foster care with other dogs and teenagers waiting for his forever family to find him. He would do great in a fenced yard to have area he can run and play. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to have him delivered to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Bluebell – The bouncy, playful life of the party. This pup is all about fun, games, and sneaky kisses when you least expect them! She is SO friendly, confident and social... and exhibits the strongest herding dog instincts! She is a frequent ankle nipper to get you to go where she wants you to go, so younger kids may not appreciate her antics. She has the most beautiful piercing blue eyes and is always by her foster mama's side. She cannot wait to find her person! These girls are sweet, silly, and totally full of puppy antics — everything from zoomies to dramatic flops mid-play. They're currently working hard on potty training and crate training like the smart cookies they are. While we’re not sure exactly what breeds are in their mix, they definitely have some herding dog DNA, so potential adopters should do their research. Herding breeds are incredible, loyal companions — but they’re not the best match for every household. Age: Approximately 2 years old and 25 days old Weight: 45.8 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Older considerate kids only Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Seamus is a fun-loving, extremely smart, and affectionate guy who’s always up for an adventure! Whether you’re heading out for a hike, a car ride or just a walk around the neighborhood, he’ll be right there by your side. When it’s time to relax, he’s just as happy to snuggle up on the couch, rest his head on your lap & keep you company until you’re ready to get moving again. Seamus is unique in his focus on his humans. He looks to his fosters for cues, and has been extremely easy to train. He has a strong desire to please. That said, he also enjoys playing with his foster siblings (see video with the Newfoundland) and can entertain himself (see the other video for a demonstration of his ball skills)! Seamus didn’t have the easiest start in life, and was found in a field in Missouri, living independently. As a result, he is shy at first. In his foster home, he has thrived, returning many times over the love and affection he is given. If you think he might be the right fit for you, come meet him and let’s see! Adoption fee: $495.00
