Story

Welcome Roo. He is a 15 or 16-month-old Kelpie/Shepherd mix dog. He is about 70 or 75 pounds. He is a big and energetic dog. He is great with other dogs and gets along well with all personalities. He loves all people as everyone is a potential playmate. He wants to play, run, walk and hike and would be an excellent companion for an active family. He is smart and ready to take direction and allow you to show him the ropes. He is motivated to please and will make a great running, jogging or hiking companion. He would also be fine as a family dog. Due to his energy and excitement, we think kiddos 10 or older would be his best fit. He could be to exuberant for the little tikes. He is currently in Texas and is healthy and ready for his new forever home. He was pulled off the euthanasia list in one of the local Texas pounds by Mandy and her family. He has been in foster care with other dogs and teenagers waiting for his forever family to find him. He would do great in a fenced yard to have area he can run and play. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to have him delivered to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Story

Pepper is a three year old aussie mix that is house trained and crate trained. We put her in her crate at night, and during the day-when no one is home. Sometimes she whines a little at night, but not for long. Since Pepper is deaf, we are working on getting her to watch us for directions/encouragement. She knows "sit" and "lay down" and also knows to "come" when we flash the light in the backyard in the dark and also in the house. Pepper wants to be with people all the time and will follow us as we go about chores in the house or yard. She has lots of energy and while she doesn't necessarily bring a ball back, when we throw it she chases it as fast as she can. She gets along with her foster sister well but with Lucy being really shy and Pepper still learning to play with others, they don't play together too much, yet. She has never been aggressive with people or other dogs that we have seen. We don't have cats so cant really speak to that, but she did pretty good with Shiloh, the blind and deaf puppy we fostered for a short time. The little bit we had her on a leash, she did very well and loves to be outside. Pepper is really doing well and just wants to be loved and kept busy! Typical Aussie! It's hard to remember she's deaf! Although she slept through that very loud thunderstorm the other night! All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. Snoopy is a 6 month old male aussie (mix?) out of two litters rescued from a puppy mill located in southern Minnesota. He will likely be over 50 pounds at maturity. Snoopy is housetrained already! These puppies came to us completely terrified and will need patient families to learn to live in our world. We require a fenced yard as they are flight risks. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. Story

Schroeder is a 6 month old male aussie out of two litters rescued from a puppy mill located in southern Minnesota. Schroeder is still very timid and scared, but he is working on learning how to be a house dog. Even though he's scared, he wags his little stub when he sees his foster family and enjoys being with people. He is working on sit, stay, and potty training. He has also developed a fun, playful relationship with his foster dog sister and she is showing him the ropes on how to be a happy dog outside too. He is good with the cats and the little kids in his foster home (1 and 3 years old), although he gets scared easily if these toddlers move too quickly. He will likely be over 50 pounds at maturity.
