Story
Hi There: My friend and her daughter are needing to re-home their dogs in order to continue to afford to live in Santa Cruz county. The cost of housing is skyrocketing and rentals have been more scarce. Having two dogs has proven to be an unscalable obstacle for a now single mom. The dogs are sisters and must stay together. I am helping my friend with re-homing, as you can imagine, it is so very difficult for them to choose between their family dogs and continuing to live in their community. They have been raised in a family home with plenty of backyard. They are cuddly and sweet, but will definitely let you know if a visitor or prowler is about. Brooklyn and Margot are great companions they enjoy taking walks and hikes with their family and do well on leash. They are good listeners, love to play fetch and will sit and lay down upon command.

Story
Balto is one of the smartest dogs you will ever meet. He even learned how to clean up his toys and put them away. However, he was attacked by a pit bull as youngster while on a walk and has developed anxiety when on leash and along fences. He also does need a good amount of exercise. We recently moved and are surrounded by barking dogs on all sides which has been really unfair for his anxiety, and he hasn’t been handling it well. We also don’t have the time with our new jobs to give him the exercise he deserves (he will chase a ball for hours if you let him). We hope to find Balto an amazing home where he isn’t always worried about dogs barking around him, and where he can enjoy his favorite hobbies.

Story
I'd like to start off by saying that Bear is a huge lover, and the most perfect dog 99% of the time. Unfortunately, he does suffer from anxiety (which we have been able to manage with daily medication), however he needs a more stable environment than we can provide with 2 young children and another dog. He is extremely jealous over our attention and in his ideal world would be curled up next to us on a regular basis. Besides his anxiety, Bear is as healthy as they come. He is neutered and up to date with all his shots. He LOVES to play fetch and is a VERY fast runner.

Story
Introducing Phantom! This sweet pup came into our care with his two siblings as a result of an accidental breeding. Phantom was born completely blind, but this doesn't slow him down! He is quite the gentle pup and uses those little ears of his to lead the way and he's adapted great to this new style of life. His foster let us know that Phantom has a knack for finding his way into your heart, as he'll happily sit or lay by, or even on your feet, offering a sense of comfort and warmth. His funny and playful nature will keep you entertained, and he's always up for a game of follow-the-leader, either by lead or scent. This water-loving pup is a true "water puppy," loving the joy of swimming and playing in the river. Blindness doesn't slow Phantom down; in fact, it adds to his charm and resilience. He navigates the world with grace and enthusiasm, proving that love knows no boundaries. His playful demeanor extends to other dogs, and he's known to be good with cats but would prefer a home with an experienced adult owner or a family with older children who have previously worked with special needs dogs (preferably blind dogs). His future owner would be someone who is home throughout the day with him, able to continue positive training and socialization for his safety. Pre-registration for general obedience classes is a requirement for adoption. Phantom is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved.
