Story
My name is Luna and I am a tricolor & black aust shepherd. I am a spayed female and I am 9 months old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 11/25/2023 due to the fact the other pet in the home didn`t want me around. They were my family for 3 months. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am potty trained, but can have accidents if not kept on a schedule. I am a medium energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I am great about walking nicely on a leash, although I will sometimes pull when excited. I would do well with simple obedience training to help us bond and for us to learn how to communicate with each other. I will dash out open doors/gates if given the opportunity, so my owner should be mindful of that until I`m better trained not to do that. I would like a standard height fence to help keep me inside the yard safely so I can run and play as much as I want. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with cats and I can be good with other dogs. I am afraid of loud noises or unfamiliar object, and I run away when I see them. The shelter staff would be happy to talk with you about how to help me to manage my fears. My owner had this to say about me: Relaxed and chilled dog most of the time. She is also goofy and playful. She is super affectionate and loves hugs and belly rubs. Loves tug of war, being outside, and getting attention. Struggles with some seperation anxiety, will need appropriate crate training to help her manage this, as I haven`t had time to do this with her.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.

Story
Ruby is a 60lb Aussie girl looking for a forever home. Ocean Blue eyes, soft long flowing hair, quiet, and a lover not a fighter. Ruby is the perfect bachelorette, her 9 years brings with her a sense of loyalty. Ruby is well over the juvenile scene and prefers long walks daily. She is not on twitter but she will follow you anywhere. She socializes with others of all breeds very well but is over the ""playing games in your face"" type relationship. If she was to share her home with another fur brother or sister she would prefer an older/chill type companion. She also loves a fence since she is free to explore and not be tied down. Ruby loves eggs on her morning food and prefers someone that can accommodate her tastes as she is a catch of a lady and deserves to be treated as such. She prefers soft pillows to sleep on and a lap to snuggle on since after all she thinks she is a lap dog. Her previous owner said she loves cats. If you are interested in making a match please fill out an application at www.foreverhomedogs.org since she is only taking appointments to meet her. Her adoption fee is $100.All adoptions are $200 per dog which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $100 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Lacie is an energetic Aussie, born January 2019. Because she has so much energy and is so smart, she needs a very special owner who is able to meet and challenge her mental and physical needs.  She is a sweet dog who takes time to warm up to people, especially men. Once she gets comfortable with people, she will snuggle, shower them with kisses, and give them lots of attention.  She can be nervous in large social settings and prefers to be with her chosen people and animals. She loves to go on hikes, watch Netflix and cuddle with her people. Her perfect home will be with a very patient owner who will help Lacie excel in life.  Her perfect home will be with a very patient owner who will provide daily activities that will meet Lacie's  physical and mental needs so that she will excel in life.  Lacie would do well as an only pet or a home with a younger playful dog, as she loves to play.  Cats would not be a good idea as she thinks they are fun to chase. And we recommend no young children due to Lacie's extreme activity level.   A fence is preferred. The suggested adoption donation for Lacie is $400  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet LEGO!  He is an active and sweet Aussie/pit mix. He is 3 years old (4/13/16). His favorite things include chasing after a ball, playing with the sprinkler in the summer, going on walks and snuggles while you watch a movie. He is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He does better as an only dog. He has been around small children but would do better in a home with big kids (teen or older). He has had professional training but does need guidance still with some exciting things like being let outside. A fenced backyard is a requirement as well. He’s kennel trained too. His favorite pass time is to lay on the couch in the sun. We also prefer to stay in contact with his new family. The main reason we are rehoming is due to having a child with developmental delay who doesn’t understand when LEGO isn’t in the mood to play. LEGO has never harmed anyone but, like stated, he does not get along with other dogs. He would come with his kennel, leash and collar. As well as all of the miscellaneous items we have for him.  Lego's perfect home would be a home with a fenced backyard, older or no kids. Kids visiting would be fine. Someone who could take him for daily walks. He loves to play fetch too! Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. The suggested adoption donation for Lego is $350, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our animals in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Lego into your home, please begin by submitting our adoption application.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. Story
Shamrock, who has been described as a diamond in the rough, is an Aussie mix.  His wonderful foster is currently working with him to give him more confidence, but he still needs to improve on some issues, such as trust and resource guarding.  His new home will need to continue to reinforce this training; therefore, a Muddy Paws trainer will be provided to help his new owner.  Shamrock is very intelligent and learns quickly..  Once you have Shamrock's trust, this sweet fellow is a cuddler and a kisser.  Because he has a high prey drive, it will be best if there are no other pets in his new home.  His breed does best with daily exercise so an active family would be perfect, and a fenced yard is a must.   The suggested adoption donation for Shamrock is $350, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our dogs in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Shamrock into your home, please begin by submitting our adoption application.  The adoptions for all of our dogs will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person.
