Ozark is doberman/shepherd mix. When she came to Minnesota she was underweight, now she is up to 70 pounds. She is still quite lean so could stand a couple more pounds. Before coming to Minnesota she had a litter of puppies, but now has been spayed.

Don't know which breed it comes from but Ozark has a curly tail that is shifted to one side. So she can look a bit lop sided.

Ozark is a playful sweet girl. She requires slow introduction to new dogs but once the introductions are over she is game on. Ozark plays in the yard with her foster brothers - the mastiff and boxer. She is a talker, she will try to convince us to give her more treats or get the boys to play. Ozark plays with her foster dad in backyard racing around.

She walks well on a leash and knows basic commands.

After a busy day outside she is content to lay on the floor and chew on a rope toy. Ozark also likes to cuddle on the coach when we watch TV.

Ozark is kennel and house trained. If a treat is placed in the back of the kennel she walks right in. She prefers a plastic kennel rather than a wire one. She can get excited easily and would do best in a home with children over the age of 10.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Please come see us at Petsmart on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Eagan (Petsmart 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121); 4th Saturday of each month in Richfield (Petsmart 1100 W 78th St, Richfield, MN 55423); and the 3rd Sunday of each month in Maple Grove (Petsmart 11200 Fountains Way Maple Grove, MN 55369). We will have many adoptable dogs, puppies, and maybe a kitten or two that are able to attend for public viewing... please stop in and play! If you are interested in a specific dog or cat from viewing our available animals at wagsmn.org, please email us in advance of an adoption event (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com), and we will do our best to have them at the event.
