Henry's bio coming soon! All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis in the Memphis area over 4 months of age is $275.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $300.00 and a cat is $150.00. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Nashville area is $325.00. The $325.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Chicago area is $475.00. The $475.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area. **WE HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS FOR SOPHIE AND ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW ONES**Sophie is a very sweet, good-natured and mild-mannered girl looking for a loving family. This sweetheart was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural KY. She is a Hound mix, possibly with Australian Shepherd. She is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs in around 35 pounds so a perfect medium size! She was was almost completely bald when originally found and was diagnosed with Demodex. She has been treated and her fur is coming back in beautifully! Demodex is not contagious to humans or other dogs so she is ready for her forever family. Sophie is friendly, social and playful and we think she'll fit in easily in most households. She is crate trained and does very well with her housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Due to COVID-19, many of our veterinarians have restricted access to non-emergency services. As a result, we have not been able to have some of our dogs spayed/neutered prior to adoption, including Sophie. With many other shelters and rescues closing down, we want and need, to continue to save lives. For a limited time, intact dogs may be available to adopt on a foster-to-adopt basis, dependent on the adopter's location and ability to travel to our partner clinics when they are fully operational. For this reason, we are only considering local adoptions for Sophie (Chicagoland area/neighboring states) with the understanding she will need to be returned to Pal's Place for her spay when our partner clinics resume full operation. Sophie's adoption fee is $300. This fee covers the cost of her spay, vaccines, microchip and initial de-worming. Sophie is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved.
