Luka is ready for adoption. At only four months old we are thinking he may have some beagle and a few other breeds mixed in as well. What we do know for sure is that Luka is super cute, social, and playful! He is living in a busy foster home with two other dogs that he loves to play and cuddle with. He is house, crate, leash and simple command trained. He first came to us with a foot injury that is now completely healed. It helps that his foster mom is a nurse so he is in the best hands! We suspect he will be about 40 pounds when full grown. Luka’s forever home will be one where someone is home more than not, has a fenced yard, and another playful canine companion. * If you are interested in adopting Luka, please complete the online adoption application on our website: www.dsda.org/adopt * Adoption Fees:Puppies (12 months and under) - $300+taxDogs (over 12 months) - $250+tax * Home visit is required. For this reason, we only adopt locally in the DFW area. Qualifications for Adoption:· Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.· Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.· Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date onvaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable).· Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.· Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training,medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.· Applicant is home more than not or willing to provide daycare or pet sitter when away for long periods of time. ##543591##

Mowgli came into our lives about 5 years ago. At that time we had another beagle puppy we were looking for a friend. We adopted Mowgli from a couple who did not have time to play with and love her. Our other beagle passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago, and since it has just been Mowgli and our kitty xxxx@xxxx.x recently, we have welcomed a baby boy to the world. Prior to getting pregnant we sold our home and moved into an apartment in the city where we were able to enjoy long walks with Mowgli. Since bringing baby home we have not been able to enjoy those prior long walks, we really haven’t been able to give Mowgli the time she deserves. Mowgli is house trained, she does well confined in a designated space or wandering about. She does have skin allergies that she takes a daily pill for. She was good with out other beagle, but has gotten grumpy towards other dogs in her old age. Has never bitten anyone or any other dog. She really loves to be cuddled and petting is her favorite.
