Story
Hi! I'm Ned! Have you ever heard such a cool name for a dog? Unlike most humans (I heard you are all quarantined in your houses), I was able to take a spring break trip to Minnesota! I came from Alabama, where I was in a really great shelter that rescued me. Now that I am in MN I get to start over with a new story! I am a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois. I am a very fast learner and very loyal to my humans. I am about 55 pounds but am very small compared to my 60-pound foster sister who is a yellow lab. I absolutely LOVE my foster sister and I hear my foster Mom tell her friends that I look to her to show me how to feel safe and confident-since I'm a bit timid due to all the changes in my life. I rely on her to make me more comfortable to get on my leash, go outside to go potty, sleep in my kennel at night, and learn that humans love to snuggle and pet me. The first night I tried to sleep in the kennel without her in my sight I barked and cried-then my foster mom thought to bring her down to stay in her kennel next to mine and I got the best night sleep! I like to go in and out of my kennel during the day and take breaks on my own, I even like the door shut-as long as I can see my humans and my foster sister. Wrestling with my fur sister is the best! I like to have fun, but I am very gentle even though sometimes I make some silly noises. I rarely bark, even when people or trucks stop by. I am doing a good job going potty outside while on a leash; I still need to figure out a way to tell my humans that I need to go out. I have had a few accidents in the house but as long as my humans keep an eye on me, I will learn in no time. In the first few days of my stay, I have learned to sit; I picked it up very quickly! I take treats very gently, eat twice a day, love to take naps and go for car rides! The first few times you meet me I am initially very timid but please keep in mind that I have been through a lot and am learning what it's like to live the good life. I am not yet a lap dog or a cuddle bug. I like short cuddles on the floor when I am sleepy, and don’t mind a scratch behind my ear but other than that I'd rather get affection from my fur foster sister. If you are sitting in a chair, I might put my front paws on you and let you scratch my head. I am becoming a little more outgoing in the kitchen when you are cooking, and I might try to peak up onto the counter to see what's cooking! Since I am still working through my timid shyness I would do best in a home with another canine companion that can help me build my confidence and show me how to be the best dog that I can be! I would love a family who is home more than away and will include me in daily walks, play time and companionship. Do you think that I might be a good fit for your home? I sure hope so! I can’t wait to start my new life!--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $450To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/
