Story
Meet Rocco SM
Okay, everyone, I need to get the sad part out of the way. My owner “passed away” and that left me in need of a home. I am not sure what “passed away” means, but I think it is sad, because I don’t see my Dad anymore and that is sad in my heart.
My Grandma tried to take over my care, but my energies were too much for a lady that is mature in her age. My Auntie would love to keep me, because she thinks I am the bag of chips plus a piece of bacon, but she already hit her limit with an undisclosed amount of pets at her own residence, you would need two hands to count them!
I am the goldie locks of age, weight and color. Just right, at 3 years, 45 pounds and a bambi colored Black Mouth Cur mix. You could even plop a standard “German Shepherd/Lab” mix on my face too, I am just a good lookin moderately sized golden beef muffin stud cake with a chocolate dipped snooter. My fur is like a Lab coat, so I guess I am really into chemistry too.
I am kennel trained and can sleep in there at night. When I am not sleeping hang on to your britches, because we are gonna do some fun. I jump higher than Jordan and my tug game is very ropey. If I were a gas, I would be high octane, the gas to drive cars, not the gas that comes from scarfing your food too fast.
I pull on the leash while walking, but I am working on that with a gentle leader device that helps guide my muzzle, kinda like a horse leash if you really think about it. Me and cats are not in cahoots. I look for them when I go on walks, so I can give them the evil eye. They think they invented glares, cats, they think they invented the world. *rolls eyes*
I am very affectionate and listen to commands from humans. Since I am high energy, I am refurmended to a home without small kids, so I don’t get into trouble in case I knock them down. But I could prob learn to not jump so hard on kids, because I am eager to please and my smarts are as big as my handsomes. The entire enchilada right here.
I am currently learning STAY and working on my urge to jump up on people. Appawrently, a SIT will get rubs faster than an jump, who knew! My owner’s family wants very much for me to find a new home. I am available out of state, but if adopted locally, my family wants to hook you up with a brilliant trainer so you can continue to work on my commands. They might even help with training costs to sweeten the pot if you live out of state. That is to be discussed. They just want me to find a good caring home, since my owner is passed away.
GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired.
Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs Rescue will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake.
Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!!
Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescued dog, their LIVES depend on it!
