Story
This beautiful 3 three year old female is looking for her forever home. I fostered her and her last 4 kittens, found great homes for them, and planned to keep Sparkles, but after having her spayed and vaccinated, found out she does not like other cats! She is such a sweet loving cat to people, I was shocked when she chased our other kitties upon being released from her confinement. If you or anyone you know need this princess in your lives, please contact me. I am asking for vet references, and I will bring her to you along with her bed, toys, and dishes. Thank you.

Story
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CAT IS CURRENTLY NOT IN THE SHELTER.  CONTACT INFORMATION FOR HER FAMILY IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST   Sweet GINA is looking for her next home. She is pure muscle; very playful and loves to jump fences and prowl around outside. She is talkative and if you whistle for her she will come running… She’s very affectionate but she will take a little time to warm up to you. She will be best on her own; She is an indoor/outdoor kitty. Gina is 13 years young. She has been going to the same vet for the past 10 years: Rose City Vet. Hospital, Dr. Burger. She is in very good health and has had all her vaccinations (can provide a statement from the vet’s office). I am sad to say goodbye to her but have accepted a job out of the country and cannot take her with me. Please help me and Gina find a new, loving home for her. I am heartbroken to part with her, but will be at peace knowing that she will be taken care of.   Please, contact me if you can help. Thank you, Graciela 503 998 5303 Portland, Oregon

Story
Stefan came to the shelter when he was abandoned in the bushes in a carrier. We think that he is about 10 years old. As we had some concerns with him and figuring he was a senior we placed him in our Senior Cat program. It was discovered through this program that he is in the early stages of kidney failure, and that he also has some arthritis. His kidney failure makes him need a special diet of kidney food and his arthritis requires that he takes a supplement everyday. This guy is so much fun though. He loves to get pets and lie in your lap. He isn't a great fan of dogs, however he doesn't really mind other cats. This guy needs to be in a home where he can get all the love and attention that he can handle. If you think that you might be able to give this guy what you need please don't hesitate to call 503-397-4353 or email animalwelfare@columbiahumane.org Please do not just show up at the shelter to meet this guy as he is currently being housed at a foster home. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email animalwelfare@columbiahumbia.org

Story
Amber kitty is a beautiful, smart, friendly cat - once she warms up to you. She loves to be pet, play with a laser pointer, and cuddle up on the couch. She will do none of these things when you adopt her though - she's going to hide from you and not want to be touched for at least 3 months as she gets used to the idea of a new home and new person in her life. This is how she acted when we moved a few years ago and when new family members moved in. She will reward a patient new owner with lots of love, it's just going to take a while! We have owned Amber since she was ~8 months old. She is an indoor/outdoor cat currently, and an excellent mouser. Our preference would be an indoor/outdoor home for her, but indoor only would be fine. She is about 6 years old now and in great health. Current on all shots. Litter box trained and very tidy. Sadly she became very territorial when we adopted a third cat and won't stop picking fights with the other two. She needs to go to a single cat home.

Story
Fleur is the quiet brainiac who could be easily overlooked, but is curious, silly, and loving. Bring out her favorite wand toy and her eyes light up. She longs to be pet so much that she'll flop in happiness. She is looking for a quiet home without kids. She is still learning that people are safe but while in her "spot" she loves everyone.
