Story
Aspen came to us in the bitter cold of January 2019. He was injured and frozen and two lovely ladies brought him to us. His temp was only 95 degrees (that’s 7 degrees lower than normal) and we were all afraid he would not make it but Aspen has a strong spirit and pulled through! Aspen is loving his inside life. He is a rather shy fellow, but rubs on his foster’s legs for pets! He would enjoy the company of a playful feline as he’s an active fellow who likes to romp around with his cat friends.  He's a sweetie and we are so happy he became a Community Cat! He’s being fostered in the Elm Grove area. Fill out an application here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfTXl-qxs7S2Y2HItq10vw8EzHj14W92ttaDDcc9AHth5Nj-Q/viewform If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org . Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home. Our adoption fees are $50 for adult cats, $85 for kittens under one year, and double the love with two adult cats for $85. All cats are spayed or neutered, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested for FIV and FeLV (feline leukemia), and microchipped.

Story
Petunia, 15, mom laying down left. Louise 14, daughter sitting. Bonded pair with Louise. Both are rather chatty. Louise loves to cuddle for a while every night on her foster mom’s shoulder. Petunia likes to go under the covers by her foster mom’s knees. Both cats are indifferent to other cats. They enjoy hanging out together, but petunia comes out and finds her foster mom to announce when it’s time to eat (by her schedule). Petunia enjoys drinking from the faucet and playing in the water. They are very sweet and are very much in need of their very own retirement home. They are being fostered in the Random Lake area. Story
Ms Mia is a sweet old gal with 18 years of stories and adventures under her bonnet, but now she is looking for a comfortable retirement home with staff who will dote on her. She is soft, squishy, and oh so pretty. Mia's mild manners are charming and she loves to be loved. Head butts are her specialty. She would also prefer to be an only cat or with another calm feline soul. Her high-falutin, kitten-tolerating days are behind her. She was recently diagnosed with kidney disease, so she’ll require lots of wet food and subcutaneous fluids a few times a week (which is easy enough to do at home). She is front declawed and her calm nature makes her an ideal apartment or study buddy. Please consider giving this very special girl a place to retire and live out her days knowing nothing but love. She’s being fostered in the sun prairie area. If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org. Story
Patches came to us a year ago from Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was a Chicago street cat and still has not forgotten where she came from! Patches wants OUT. Then she wants IN. Then she doesnt know what she wants!  From time to time we do have inside/outside cats. Patches is one of them. She's a door darter! She watches for opportune moments and makes her escape! And she's so good at it! She truly seems happiest when outside.  And a little less Psycho.  Inside she walks around the house reminding every living thing that she doesnt appreciate their existence.   She walks around grumbling and yelling at anyone who gets too close, whether that be canine or feline. Or the occasional human! Outside she's a different cat.   Much more relaxed.  We know we have people out there who love the sassy ones! Patches is your girl! We'll hook you up! She would love to be an only cat with access to the outside.  Her perfect home would be somewhere in the country, away from traffic. Her current foster is in the city on a fairly busy street. Not the best option for her. She would also do well in a horse stable we believe.  She may still be a bit sassy to other cats but we think she will be much better when she has more space to roam.  As scary as she sounds sometimes, she's ALL talk. She just likes to make everyone run away from her. And it works!!!  Who can give our sassy little psychopath a home where she can be herself??? Story
Weber is one of those cats lucky just to be alive. She was rescued from a small crawl space under a house after the family had heard a kitten crying for quite some time. She was weak and starved and dehydrated, but she was a fighter! And yes, her eyes really do look like that. She doesn't see well, and for that reason, it would be best if she was in a home where she was the only cat, or maybe have one other feline friend who's laid back and mellow. She had Dystichia, a condition where the eyelashes grow on the inside of the eyelid. She had surgery to correct this and can see some out of that eye. Her right eye is not the best either. The eye drifts up and to the right and she most likely sees blurry out of that eye at best. But she is still a beautiful little thing in our eyes! She is extremely shy and would likely hide if you came to visit her. We do believe that if you are willing to give her time and patience that she would be a great addition to a quiet home. Story
My name is Thea and I just want you to know that if you own a bed we’re going to be BEST friends. I love to be carried around like a baby and if you have a comfortable couch, bed, fleece blanket or anything else soft I’ll nap, purr and make biscuits until the cows come home! Have you seen my tail? It’s shaped like a squiggly line and its one of my most adorable qualities. They tell me I have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (also known as CH!) but I get around fine! I’ll chase around balls and feathers but your lap is where this girl prefers to be!    Thea is considered to have a mild case of CH. she may require some litter box modifications but mostly does just fine in a regular box! Carpet/rugs help her get around but she handles hardwood like a champ. There has to be a way to block off stairs and nook and crannies for her safety until she gets older and learns the ropes! But these are all easy compared to the love you’ll receive. (Have I mentioned she loves to cuddle?) She was born around September 2019  and is being fostered at The Grafton Bentley’s Pet Stuff   Thea was diagnosed with FeLV (feline leukemia), so she’ll need a home without other cats as it is contagious, but only to other cats. It’s spread through the bodily fluids (saliva, urine, feces, etc.). She is currently healthy, but may experience a shorter lifespan because FeLV compromises the immune system making her more susceptible to illness. Like any cat, she’ll require high quality food and regular veterinary care and in return, you will receive unconditional love. Learn more about FeLV here: https://americanpetsalive.org/blog/saving-felv-cats-your-felv-questions-answered CH is a neurologic disorder that doesn't get worse and doesn't get better. CH most often causes jerky, shaky, unbalanced movements. There is no pain associated with CH and the cat knows no other life and often do great! You can learn more about CH here à http://chcat.org/about-ch-cats/ If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org .
