Story
Happy has been in and out of several homes since he was a tiny puppy. His first owner listed him on Craigslist. His third owner found him wearing the second owner's ID tags, but when contacted they said they did not want him anymore. Happy was surrendered to Emmy's Hope Rescue in January 2015.  His third / last family was moving out of the country and could not take him. Happy came to Emmy's Hope heartworm positive. He has gone through the treatment and was cured of heartworms. :))  Happy is good with cats and he likes to run and play outside with other little dogs his size. When playtime is over and he is called inside, he comes right away. He is very good about going back inside his kennel, in fact he considers it his safety zone. Happy enjoys being petted but does not really like to sit in your lap, he prefers sitting beside you. He will snap at young children, they make him very nervous. Little Happy has been waiting a long time to find his special family, the one that will love and keep him forever this time. Estimated birthdate - Jan. 2013. Estimated weight - 10 lbs. If you would like to meet Happy, please call or text Stephanie at 281-622-6549. *** ADOPTION  CRITERIA *** YOU MUST: 1. Live in the Houston area (no more than an hour's drive away). 2. Be 21 years or older. 3. Have a fenced yard. 4. Have at least 2 years of good vet history, with current and / or past pets, including: annual Rabies and DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza) vaccinations, annual heart worm test and using a monthly heartworm preventative.

In July, 2019 a family from Willis, Texas surrendered their three dogs to a Woodlands rescue. The owner said they were moving and could not take the dogs with them. Les and his brother, Will were transferred to Emmy’s Hope Rescue in August 2019. Les is shy when he first meets strangers but warms up quickly and then is so sweet and loving. Having always been restricted by a chain, he now enjoys the freedom to run, chase and wrestle with his brother. Because he was secluded as a puppy, he is learning how to be a “dog” from his new friends at the Rescue. Les needs a patient and loving family to help him continue developing into a happy and trusting little dog. Estimated birth date:  July  2018 Approximate weight:  13 lbs. If you would like to meet Les, please call or text Stephanie at  281-622-6549. ADOPTION  CRITERIA  To qualify to adopt from Emmy’s Hope Rescue,  YOU MUST HAVE ALL 4 QUALIFIERS:  1. You must live in the Houston area (no more than an hour away).  2. You must be at least 21 years or older.  3. You must have a fenced yard. Fencing must touch the ground all the way around the yard and we recommend  pavement stones under the gates.  4. You must have at least 2 years of good vet history with current and / or past pets (including: up-to-date Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, annual negative heartworm testing and using a monthly heart worm preventative).

Story
Happy has been in and out of several homes since he was a tiny puppy. His first owner listed him on Craigslist.
