Story
Hello Everyone, Almost three weeks ago now, we cancelled our March 28th transport due to the coronavirus. One thing working with animals has taught all of us to do is to look at the worst that could happen and walk it back to the decisions we make today. Moving 20-30 animals into new foster homes and asking our fosters to run to vet clinics or meet with applicants, knowing we do have fosters who fall in the high-risk group, we opted to keep all safe and PUP low stress. Unfortunately, as of today, we’ll also be pulling our available animals offline. This will allow our foster families and other volunteers to remain in their self-quarantine. Not to worry though, all of our animals are safe here with us and will continue to be loved and well-cared for until we can all breathe a little safer. We will be back in full force to pull as many animals out of our shelters as we can fit into every nook and cranny once this virus has lifted. Our hearts are with all of the animals and shelter staff. As our CA shelters also go on lockdown, we are hopeful owners will look at what is happening around us and see their animals as gifts during this time rather than burdens. Their lives will depend on good owners making good decisions more now than in the 14 years we’ve been operating. Until our next shelter pull, we will keep you updated on Koda’s FHO surgery and recovery along with Buttercup’s adorable puppies and anything else PUP. If you have adopted a dog or cat… or both from PUP please send an update. If anything can put smiles on our PUP peep’s faces, it’s happy tails! May you all remain healthy and find peace during this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We thank you for your continued support. Laura and Everyone at PUP!   Laura Tonkin, Founder and Director PUP Dog Rescue PO Box 1691 Issaquah, WA 98027 www.pupdogrescue.org

NAME: NEKO CASE AGE/GENDER: DOB 2.1.19, Female BREED: RAT TERRIER/CHIHUAHUA TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous WEIGHT: 8lbs and growing! HOUSE TRAINING: Good! CRATE TRAINING: Good! OTHER DOGS: Good! She currently lives with another small chihuahua and attends daycare regularly.  CATS: Good!  CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older.  ADOPTION DONATION: $500.00 HEALTH: NEKO has a heart murmur, grade 4/6. Valvular Pulmonic Stenosis: Severe Subvalvular aortic stenosis; severe. Mitral & Pulmonic regurgitation and Ventricular Septal defect. This does not inhibit her in anyway when it comes to play and activity. She was seen by a cardiologist where an echocardiogram was done, showing that she does require surgery. We have been in contact with Oregon State and cannot do the surgery until she is 8 lbs. She is currently taking atenolol for this condition.  UPDATE:  Neko has had another echocardiogram and was scheduled for surgery in April, but she has now been put on a wait list until the COVID-19 situation rights itself.  HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Neko a great forever family when she was surrendered to a shelter.  NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Neko is a super sweet little girl. She’s outgoing and affectionate. And too cute to boot! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found. Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with. For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org. Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need! Woof, The Motley Zoo Crew

Story
Meet Sarah Jessica Barker, SJB for short. She came to CARE from the city shelter with her little family of 5. SJB has been in a foster home with us since leaving the shelter and we have really enjoyed getting to learn more about her. She is super friendly and playful but also pretty lowkey for the most part. She does very well with other dogs of all sizes and so far has been very uninterested in the cats. Her foster mom tells us that she has progressed very well with potty and leash training . She thinks SJB would do best in a home with a furry playmate and of course a very loving family! If you think Sarah Jessica Barker is meant to be part of your family and you are interested in learning more and speaking with her adoption coordinator and foster mom to learn more about her please fill out an application at www.caretx.org/adopt. This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. Story
Hi guys! Our names are Lelo (daughter- the one with the ears that fold over and she is 5 lbs) and Stitch (father- the one with the up ears and he is 6 lbs). We are very bonded so we are looking for a home together. We were dumped on the side of a major freeway and we were soooo scared that we had to be trapped to be caught. This was July 30 2017. We have come a super long way since then, but we are still scared of new things and places (which… who wouldn’t be after all we have been through?!?!). This is why we are being listed as ‘special needs.’ We are very happy at our foster home… but we don’t really love to go anywhere else. We have never tried to bite anyone, we just don’t love new things and get very timid. We would not be great candidates for dog parks or doggie daycare kind of situations. We are very small, so we are a tad small to go outside on our own and will always have to have someone walk us otherwise hawks or owls could very easily swoop us up. We do well with potty pads in the house as long as they are not placed on carpet as it is a little hard to tell the difference sometimes. Sometimes if we are very scared we do piddle a little bit, but we are getting better about this as our confidence is growing. Just so you know we are still in Houston until our forever family finds us and adopts us… then we will get to you as fast as possible!!! The rescue funds the travel portion so it will depend on when a reasonably cost effective flight can be found, but again we will get there as soon as we possibly can, we are SOOOO excited that we may finally have a home of our very own. We know we are a little needy, but we are sooo sweet, so please consider adopting us. They are fully vetted which includes: (Spay/neutered, rabies & Dhpp vaccines current, heartworm negative and current on meds, and microchipped) Adoption Fee: $700 (for both as a pair… this also includes 6 months each of heartworm/flea meds equivalent to Advantage Multi, which alone is worth almost $200)
We'll also keep you updated on Stitch's adoption status with email updates.
