You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   My name is Megan I have always lived with my sister her name is Twighligjt  We have been kept in our crates a lot and it makes us sad :(  If you have time for us so we don't have to be in our crates we would really like to meet you :)   We are full of energy our foster mommy says that may be because of all the time we couldn't play but she can't guarantee that we are not just crazy happy puppies :)  We are cautious around new people so if you are chosen for a visit make sure you have time to allow us to get used to you :)Please fill out an application at 2ndChance4LifeRescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

Our home was going through a lot of scary stuff!  Our human family has had some really bad things happen in their life and so even though they love us they think we would be better off with a new family.  We were spending a lot of time in our crates and we were sad :(We are at the ranch now and we run and run!  It is sooooo fun to chase each other around and play tag!  We never stop moving.  The ranch thinks its because we have a lot of play to catch up on but they can't guarantee that we won't always be crazy, energetic pups!!!If you want to meet us fill out an application at 2ndChance4LifeRescue.org  until then we will be in the play yards having fun :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Meet Sunday! She is a gorgeous, 9 y.o. Cocker Spaniel in need of a hospice forever home. Sunday has a condition called Sick Sinus syndrome (see below). She will be on medication to keep her comfortable as long as she has quality of life...could be a few months, a few years, her cardiologist cannot say for sure. So far she is doing really well on her meds and learning a lot from the resident dog in her foster home. Right now she needs a place to rest, enjoy yummy food and gets lots of love & papmering, something she has never known until now. She is a very sweet girl, but can be skittish at times. She just needs a family to continue to show her what love and having a family of her own is all about. She has also improved so much with house training, as long as she is taken out routinely. If you can give this sweet gem a forever home for as long as we are blessed to have her on this earth with us, please e-mail katymk@ptd.net for an application to adopt.    Sick sinus syndrome (also called sinus node dysfunction or bradycardia-tachycardia syndrome) is a disturbance of the normal rhythm of the heart in adult/older dogs.   http://www.pethealthnetwork.com/dog-health/dog-diseases-conditions-a-z/sick-sinus-syndrome-sss-dogs

I have been in my foster home for about 2 months, gotten spiffed up and am living a life of good things. I am a good boy, and I get along great with my cocker brother. I am housebroken, and after some refresher training and getting my medicine right, I am rockin' it. Once my hair finishes growing back in, I'm going to be &#194&#147stunning&#194&#148 (whatever that means) but in the meantime, I'll settle for cute-even though I look a little like a raccoon. My favorite toy is a tennis ball that is all my own. Even though my sight is not perfect, I still love chasing the ball. It hits me on the head, so I know to chase it. My smell is so good that I can smell mine even when it's on the floor with other ones. If I can't find anyone to play, I toss it over my head and then run for it. So, if you would like an older gentleman who is smart, trained, and very lovable, please check me out. INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Buster, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was found as a stray. I am a senior guy looking for someone to take care of me in my golden years. I was found to have ear infections and a skin infection. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I have cataracts, but that does not slow me down. Everyone says I am gentle and sweet. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet for the remainder of my years. I need love, quality food, and a soft pillow to rest my head. Can you give an old guy a home? For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please go back to the web site and click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Go back to the web site and click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. For more information, visit www.cockeradoptions.org.
