You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   My name is Megan I have always lived with my sister her name is Twighligjt  We have been kept in our crates a lot and it makes us sad :(  If you have time for us so we don't have to be in our crates we would really like to meet you :)   We are full of energy our foster mommy says that may be because of all the time we couldn't play but she can't guarantee that we are not just crazy happy puppies :)  We are cautious around new people so if you are chosen for a visit make sure you have time to allow us to get used to you :)Please fill out an application at 2ndChance4LifeRescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

Meet Sunday! She is a gorgeous, 9 y.o. Cocker Spaniel in need of a hospice forever home. Sunday has a condition called Sick Sinus syndrome (see below). She will be on medication to keep her comfortable as long as she has quality of life...could be a few months, a few years, her cardiologist cannot say for sure. So far she is doing really well on her meds and learning a lot from the resident dog in her foster home. Right now she needs a place to rest, enjoy yummy food and gets lots of love & papmering, something she has never known until now. She is a very sweet girl, but can be skittish at times. She just needs a family to continue to show her what love and having a family of her own is all about. She has also improved so much with house training, as long as she is taken out routinely. Blackjack is one lucky little dude. As a 12 year old dog he landed in a high kill shelter in horrific condition. His fur was matted to his skin, he had bilateral cherry eyes, and his toe nails were completely curled under. It was clear that this older gentleman had suffered terrible neglect. After 1 year in a foster home Blackjack looks like an entirely different dog. As a result of the years of neglect, he does have some ongoing medical needs that require daily care. But this boy has so much life and love left to give. He’s good with other dogs. He ignores cats. He loves anyone who will take him on a walk, give him pets, or offer him a treat. He loves car rides and has excellent manners. Blackjack would love a family of his own to live out his Golden Days. Transport runs to Middle Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
