Story
Remi is a beautiful 2 year old, 60lb Doberman / American Pit mix that loves people. He is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. He loves to retrieve as well as take long walks or runs. His favorite snack is an ice cube! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Remi (aka 'Remington') is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.

Story
______________________________________________________________________________ KOBI is a MEDIUM sized dog. His markings are clearly some type of Dobie mix, but he is only about 50 pounds and is full grown. KOBI is SMART as can be and eager to please. Kobie learned "fetch" and "drop" in only a few days! Like most active young dogs he will benefit from training classes. Kobi has bonded with another of our foster dogs -- IRIS. Iris and Kobi have become absolute best friends and play for hours only stopping to give each other a kiss or to lie quietly in the sun. Our DREAM would be to have IRIS and KOBI adopted together. They love each other and happily wear each other out. They are almost identical in size and weight. There are so many dogs needing great homes that we don't want to insist Iris and Kobi be adopted together, but they would be such a great, loving addition to your family. For more information on Iris please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com or call 903-967-3226.

Story
How gorgeous is this girl? Our Poppy is a young lab/doberman mix, about 1 1/2 years old and about 45 pounds. Poppy is strong, athletic girl. She is sweet, but with a streak of independence...not clingy. She is a little shy for the first few minutes when she meets new people, but very quickly warms up and loves to snuggle and give kisses, and would thrive in an active lifestyle.  Poppy loves to run and play, especially with her foster sister, but is open and friendly with other dogs, too. We don't know how she would be with cats, but she has a very friendly disposition and tries very hard to follow directions and please her humans. She is crate-trained, and potty trained. Poppy got to attend a board-and-train at Peach Acres Training and is now ready for her own family! She is a beauty, and we're excited to watch her blossom into the great dog and family member she is meant to be! Since her rescue, she has been fully vetted, spayed. brought up-to-date on shots, chipped, and on heart worm prevention.  ** Please complete the application to ADOPT at  http://www.codysfriendsrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Ada was found dumped in a rural area, along with her mom and 4 brothers. Ada was the only one with this unique look...all of the others were clearly hounds! Ada is a petite, polite, sweet girl! She is very attentive to her people and would love nothing more than to have people of her own! Ada is crate trained and house trained for the most part...she is still puppy, so she needs to be given plenty of potty breaks. Ada gets along well with other dogs and loves to play! Find us on Facebook @rockyroadrefuge to learn more about Ada and other available dogs we have!

Story
Kyoto, who is 4 years old and now weighs 62 pounds, is a very special girl who was found by one of our volunteers clinging to life, abandoned on the streets with extremely severe heart worms. Sadly, as a direct result of the heart worms, she now has congestive heart failure which is being managed with daily medications. She, however, does not know that and it does not slow her down! This girl is so gentle, loving and tender. She loves everyone she meets and absolutely loves toys! She loves playing tug-o-war with her foster siblings and curling up for naps! She has started learning to love walks as well! She would make such a loving addition to any household and would also make a great therapy dog! We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
