Story
Chuck is a big energetic boy who loves people and is playful and social. He can be reactive to some dogs while on leash, but is much better in an off leash setting. We recommend slow introductions at first with new dogs so he can practice polite greetings and have success. Chuck has a working dog mentality, very eager to please, quick to learn with a ton of energy to use to complete whatever task is ahead of him.Chuck is a very vocal guy! He is learning to spend time on his own and will need short periods to start in a safe & secure environment. With the right balance of exercise, mental stimulus and calm consistent routine, the sky is the limit for this handsome guy. Chuck is a very busy and intelligent dog and can escape if not properly housed or if left unattended in a yard. He has great people skills, and prefers the company of adults. He is learning to share some of things, no tiny humans in the home for this big guy is best.***We've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt:1. Story
Duke is a young guy searching for a very special home. Until arriving in our care he spent most of his life on his own outside with only a carport for shelter. Due to this he is still learning manners that he didn't get to learn when he was a young pup. Duke is learning to have a soft mouth when taking toys & treats. He can easily get overexcited which can result in mouthy jumpy behaviour.Duke is in need of an adult only home with dog savvy guardians who have patience & experience with some of his challenging behaviours. He has lots of potential and will need gentle guardians to help him be all he can be. He would like to have a fenced yard to play in, he loves his toys, stuffies and brain games.Duke at this time is suited to be your one and only fur friend in the home. We think it is possible in the future for him to make dog friends. He does not do well meeting dogs while he is on leash at this time and will need a home to get to know him better before any pupper introductions.***We've made changes to our adoption process. Story
Meet Harley! This sweet 2 year old Rottweiler X is looking for her forever home. Harley knows a few commands such as 'sit', 'paw', and 'stay'. She is quite a puller on leash, and would benefit from a harness or halti to help with this. She loves her toys! She does need sturdy toys if you'd like them to last a bit longer.Harley is looking for a home where she is the star of the show. She may in the future be able to make a dog friend or two with slow introductions. At this time she will need to be your one & only. She is suited for an adult home because of her rough and tumble play style. This sweet girl had surgery on February 11th, as she has an injured knee. Harley has recovered well, she is in need of guardians that will continue to monitor her rehab and keep her on the road to recovery.***We've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt:1. Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
BEING FOSTERED IN NORTH VANCOUVER Cooper always has a big smile for everyone! Cooper was rescued by our sister organization in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where a kind woman found the starving dog on the beach and brought him to the shelter. Now, 2 months later he is a happy, healthy pup, weighing 30lbs. We think him to be about 2 years old. He is a medium energy boy who enjoys playing with other dogs, but prefers females. Cooper hasn´t co-habited with cats before and is rather afraid of them, so a home without felines would be nicer for him. He enjoys cuddles from his humans and snuggling on the couch. When it´s time for walkies, he does very well on leash. Cooper has been neutered, fully vaccinated and dewormed and is ready for a home! Please email us for an application form to adopt him: spcapv@gmail.com

Story
Gypsy is a very loving girl. She is a Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix, about 5 years old and a bit over 37 pounds. She has an easy-going temperament and especially enjoys cuddles with her people. Gypsy has a medium energy level and relishes long walks with her humans. Gypsy is dog selective with other dog friends and she doesn’t get along with some. She would not be an off-leash dog. Gypsy is not a fan of the felines. Gypsy loves riding in the car and playing fetch. We are looking for an experienced owner for her who can continue her training with her. Rescued by our sister organization in Mexico, Gypsy is available for adoption in the Victoria, BC area. She has been spayed, dewormed and vaccinated. If Gypsy sounds like the perfect fit for your family, contact us at info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Brix is an incredible dog looking for a mature home, where he can be the centre of attention and affection. He is very well behaved, knows all basic commands and LOVES belly rubs. Unfortunately, he was never well socialized and isn't comfortable around young children (although recently he has lived with young children), other dogs or any other "creatures". Brix is great on leash, he just needs some space. He listens very well. He also loves to chew on toys, shake paws for treats, and cuddle up in his bed or on the couch. Brix is approximately 7 years old and was in his last home for 5 years. He is a Boxer/Mastif/Lab mix with a salt and pepper face and a big happy smile. Brix is currently being fostered in a temporary situation and desperately needs a secure, stable and loving home. He has lost his previous homes (through no fault of his own) due to baby allergies, pregnancy, moving, housing and changes in circumstances.
