Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy toys and playtime, just as much as the rest of my brothers. But after playtime is over, I’ll be the first one napping.   I enjoy cuddles and belly rubs are my favorite. Story
Name: Zeus Age: 2 years Gender: male Breed: Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever Mix Weight: 54 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Child friendly: Yes House trained: wears a diaper inside and uses potty chair Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: loving, playful, gentle Adoption Fee: Fully sponsored Requirement: not apartment appropriate   To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family: Zeus came to us scared and not knowing what to expect. He is a wonderful boy with some special needs as he cannot use his back legs. To get around inside the house he drags back end. He has learned to go up and downstairs with some help as we have a waist lifter. As we showed him how to do things himself he has built great confidence, sometimes a bit too much as he has gone down the stairs just fine by himself a few times. He does not have control of his bathroom needs, so he does wear a diaper inside and uses a potty chair.   When outside we hook him up to his wheels. I have never seen a dog smile so big when we first hooked him up. He loves playing fetch with a ball or stick. He plays with other dogs very well, keeps up with the best of them! He also loves going for walks, he can go about 1.5 miles but every day he builds up more strength. This dog gets all the ladies attention, everyone loves coming over to pet and say hi.   Don’t let his special needs stop you from meeting him. As soon as you meet him you will fall love as everyone does. He is one of the sweetest most gentle soles. You can tell he is so grateful to have some love, food and a warm blanket to snuggle into.   We will teach you all of the ways to care for him along with some tips and tricks we have learned along the way!   About Me: Hello, my name is Zeus, I came to my foster family scared and shaking. I soon learned all of the wonderful things they let me do! I get to go outside and play every day when it’s nice out. I go for walks and everyone comes to say hello to me, I’m super popular with the ladies and kids. Inside I love to chew on my bones, play with my toys. At the end of the day, my favorite thing is to cuddle up on the doggy bed with my fuzzy blanket to keep me warm. I am looking for a forever home that will love me for the special sweet guy that I am and look past the fact that my back end doesn’t work so well!

But I would really like to start to spend that time with my forever family. I was surrendered due to allergies in the home so we want to make sure that it doesn’t happen again because it’s hard to lose a family. So please, make sure you are ready to love me forever. My foster family loves me and they say I’m a quiet presence to have around. I can go in circles chasing my tail and I’ve been known to sit for a treat. I love going for walks. I do love to be around my people so I hope you will be home for me more than I am in my kennel.  So, what do you say?  Ready for the commitment that will pay your back with snuggles and love.
