Story
DOGGONE ADOPTIONS CONTINUES TO HELP THE FAMILY OF MISS LUCY to find a wonderful loving home. Lucy was found as a stray in 2014. She was adopted by a sweet, loving 80 year old caring woman and lived happily in her home for 2 years. Due to some life changes, the owner had to move from her country home to a place that doesn't allow dogs. Lucy is a sweet little girl that loves attention. Loves running with her Jolly Ball in her mouth, dropping it, and then rolls over on her back and tries to roll over the Jolly Ball itself!! She is approximately 6 years of age, house trained, spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines. Lucy is great with kids, friendly with other dogs, but doesn't seem to like cats. Because she has not shared a home with other animals, we feel as though it would be best if she was the only pet. Even though she is active and does love to explore the yard and play with her toys, she ultimately wants to be with her people and will curl up on the couch beside you. Due to Lucy's speed and strength, a physical (not invisible) fence is required. For those same reasons, it would be better for any children in the house to be at least 10 years of age. She can be sooooo exhuberant and excited at times, that she could accidentally topple over a little one. There will be a re-homing fee requested by the family of $150.00. Story
Rocco is a sweet boy who would love to have a home to call his own. Apparently in early 2015 he and a sibling were left at a local animal shelter when they were 8 months old. His sibling was adopted. Rocco did not cope well in a shelter environment and reacted badly when approached by potential adopters. He was adopted by a local rescue, and a dedicated rescue volunteer worked long hours with a certified trainer to deal with Rocco's reactive behavior and make him more confident and secure. He would not be the lovable, happy guy he is now without that dedication. We had been providing free housing and daily care at our facility from the time the other rescue--who has no facility-- adopted him from the shelter in early 2015. In December, 2016, we requested and were given custody of Rocco by the previous rescue. He is approximately 6 1/2 years of age. Since he has been in rescue, not a foster home, from an early age he is not housetrained. He tends to seek out people, more so than other dogs. He is fast and can run like a freight train, so we prefer he have the safety of a yard with a physical, not invisible, fence. He does well with children, too. Due to his speed and strength, we suggest he be in a home with older children who know how to be around dogs (no pulling ears, poking eyes, or plopping down on a dog's back, etc). He can be reactive to other dogs, so he needs someone that will be his leader and know how to introduce him to other dogs-or know when to walk away. To meet this love bug, contact Doggone Adoptions at doggoneadoptionsoh@yahoo.com. (We find that we must limit our adoption area to between 1 to 1 1/2 hours from Troy, Ohio.)

Story
My fiancé and I took on 2 boxers from 2 different litters but have the same Dad. Jocelyn is the mixed dog with white on her snout. She is a beautiful girl and, great with our toddler, and is super loving. Getting both of them together has made it hard to obedience train each of them and they are loyal to one another. My fiancé is starting school full time along with working and will no longer be home with them. We feel it’s only fair to find someone that can dedicate time to her. Jocelyn is kennel trained and we will happily give you a kennel.
