Link is a young boy who  is eager to learn  more of his basic manners and leash skills and is willing to work very hard when rewarded with a tasty treat!  He is very timid around unfamiliar people and places but once he gets comfortable, this sensitive guy opens right up and his adorable personality will shine.  Once he's settle in to his new home, he will be his bouncy, lovable self and will show endless affection.  Because of this, he would definitely do best in a calm household where he can come out of his shell.  He currently lives with another dog and 2 cats at his current foster and would benefit from having another canine companion to help show him the ropes and gain his confidence.   Please come and meet him; we know you'll fall in love. Bella loves to run on her walks, so if you  walk quickly  she will be able to keep up to you! True to her breed, Bella does like to bark at dogs and people on her walks but with patient direction from her person she will calm down. Bella can be vocal when left alone, so she would not do well in an apartment setting, A house and yard are recommended for her.   Despite being very vocal, Bella is a super sweet girl that is looking for her forever home! Bella has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has received flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Bella would like a home with no other dogs and a yard and if possible with someone who is a “homebody” most of the time. Her adoption fee will be $400.00 and will include her health records. Story
Name: Breed: Age: Gender: Weight: Good with cats or Small Animals: Good with dogs: Good with Young Children: Good with Older Children: Fenced Yard Required: Crate-Trained: House Trained: Name: Maui Breed:  Boxer / Mastiff Age: 5 years old Gender: Female (spayed) Weight: 33 KGS Good with cats or Small Animals: NO Good with dogs: YES Good with Children: YES 6+ Fenced Yard Required: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes (but takes medication to stop urinating in sleep) Location: Belmont ON Health: Healthy   Meet Maui! Maui is a very sweet, happy, and loving dog who is very friendly with everyone she knows. She is a little shy and anxious at first, but warms up very quickly as soon as she feels you are safe! At age 5, she has calmed down quite a bit but still will get very excited and loves running in the backyard, playing with other large dogs and going for walks. She has been great with children over age 5, but has shown to be impatient and a little too overexcited for very young children, especially those too young to know how to act properly around a dog. Maui has shown no aggression over food, treats, or toys, but is reactive on-leash and will pull, growl, and bark at other dogs and some men when out for walks on a leash. She also has a high prey-drive and would not do well around other small animals. She barks quite a bit when someone comes to the door or walks by when she is outside in the backyard, but in the home she is generally calm and enjoys snuggles.   Maui is house trained and does not have accidents as long as she takes her medicine, but has also been fine to be in a crate overnight in the past. Maui has been taken to the vet regularly throughout her life and is up to date on vaccinations.   Maui's adoption fee will be $300 and will include her health records. The main reason for rehoming Maui is that she would do better in a home without young children. A person or family who does not have small children, is fairly competent in dog training and would be vigilant when taking Maui for walks or on trips would love Maui!   If you are interested in adopting Maui, please complete the online adoption application at this link: https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption   Animalert Couresty Postings:    These animals are looking for new homes. This is a referral service only, and postings are provided as a courtesy by Animalert to guardians re-homing their pets.  The descriptions and photographs of this animal are provided by the animal’s guardian; the animal has not been evaluated by Animalert and is not an Animalert animal. Adoption processes and fees are at the sole discretion of the pet’s guardian. Animalert makes no claims as to the health/ vetting or temperament of these pets and cannot be held liable for any outcomes or damages resulting from adoption.  If you are interested in providing a forever home, please complete the online adoption application at this link, https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption. Tulip is 3 years old and a chunky 13 lb. She loves dogs, cats and kids. Tulip is needy and loves attention. She does not have separation anxiety to the point that she ruins things, however she is a whiner and is always following you and pawing at your legs for attention. She needs a family that is home often and can give her all the attention she so much craves. Tulip is very social and great on a leash and harness. She says hi to everyone she meets and will be bff’s with every dog at the park and anyone willing to give her pets. She will quickly become the star of the show and a huge part of your family. Tulip would be a fantastic traveler and will go wherever you go, maybe we should have named her Shadow. Story
Hope is camera shy but certainly not a shy girl at all. Her paperwork says 11 months but she is probably closer to two years and is apx 11lb, short and stout. Hope is very confident and loves people and attention. She will choose a person over play time with another dog. She would be fine as an only dog or with siblings that do not mind her somewhat Jealous and bossy demeanor towards other dogs. Hope does play with other dogs of all ages and sizes but she likes to be the queen bee” . Walks well on leash with good potty manners. Cries a bit when crates but settles down with a toy or treat. Hope is a fantastic addition for the right home. She would do great with kids and does not mind much about cats. Story
Precious KiKi. Kiki is apx 9 years young, a short and round 8.5 pounds. Kiki came to us a mess with a severe fungal infection on her skin and a huge mammary tumor and hernia along with some dental issues. All have been resolved and Kiki is well on her way to a healthy happy life, even at 9 years of age. She does have bad knees (luxating patellas) in both rear legs but not bad enough to need surgery, she gets around just fine, does zoomies and runs around in the yard. She had surgery on hernia and tumor as well as a dental and was put on antibiotics for her skin for an entire month. Kiki’s skin is doing much better but she does have hair loss near her hind legs and bum that may or may not grow back. Kiki is super duper sweet once she gets to know you but if a stranger moves too fast with her and does not sweet talk her for a couple minutes first, she will pretend to nip, the ol’ chi chi warning air nip that says “I don’t want to bite you but I will”. Kiki has never bit anyone and is usually extremely well mannered and always wanting attention and love. No small children please. She is great with other animals and walks well on leash.
