Story
Since having been surrendered to a shelter by her original owner last summer, sweet Honey has been patiently waiting for a home to call her own. She passed through a few hands and came to our care in sad condition, but is now ready for adoption. Honey weighs 60 pounds and was born in June 2016. She came to us with an injury of unknown cause to the tip of her tail, but it’s now healing quite nicely. Honey has spent time with dog-savvy children around 10 years of age and is very good with them. She is selective with other dogs, but plays well with a small dog at her foster’s. Honey is a very affectionate girl, and bonds quickly with her people. She is clean in the house, crate trained, and knows a few commands. Honey has quite the playful side but also knows how settle down nicely when it’s quiet time. She will pull a bit on leash at first but is a bright and eager student, so good leash manners should be easy for her. Honey would do best in a house with a fenced yard for safe playtime, and an experienced active adopter with lots of time to spend with her. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if you are interested in offering Honey her forever home. Story
Meet Walden, a good-looking 80-pound mix about 1.5 years of age, in need of either a home in a quiet suburban area or in the country. According to the DNA test that was done, Walden is a mix of Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Golden Retriever, with a bit of Bull Terrier thrown in for good measure. After having been obtained from a shelter, Walden’s family soon discovered that they could not offer him the environment that he needed. This was mostly due to living in a highly-populated area with some irresponsible dog owners, which made life difficult for Walden. In the home, Walden is a gentle soul who is good with children. Although he sometimes demonstrates unsocialized behaviour when meeting certain dogs on walks, Walden is very good with other canine neighbours. He plays well with other dogs as long as they don’t get annoyed by his excited nature. Walden’s ideal home will be experienced with large dogs. He might benefit from formal training depending on his adopter’s level of experience. Walden does not like spending extended periods of time home alone, and was kept crated during the workday so as not to disturb neighbours. He would definitely enjoy having someone home at least part of the day if possible. Walden is clean in the house and has absolutely zero aggression towards humans. If Walden sounds like the kind of dog you can open your heart and home to, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website. He’s a great dog who deserves a great home! Story
Our latest arrival is Rafale, a 17-pound American Eskimo who will be celebrating his 9th birthday on January 27. Rafale was surrendered to his vet for rehoming by a busy young family due to his incompatibility with young children. Rafale needs a quiet home where he will get lots of attention and walks. Although uncomfortable with young children, Rafale is friendly and affectionate with older children and adults. Rafale is clean in the house and would make a wonderful companion for an active retiree or couple. Don’t let his age fool you, these little American Eskimo dogs require regular daily exercise and Rafale is no exception. Rafale does not like to share his home with other canines, and prefers to be the only pet. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if you're interested in adopting Rafale. Story
Meet our handsome Django, an easygoing and well-mannered mix of Lab and Boxer who just celebrated his 7th birthday. Django came into our care from his original family due to a move where dogs are not permitted. Since arriving at the foster home, Django has been nothing but a gentleman. He was always well treated, taken to the vet regularly, and is in excellent health. Django is great on leash and gets along very well with the smaller dog at his foster home. He is well behaved in the house and is used to being at home during the day while his people are at work. A big sweet and cuddly boy at about 90 pounds, Django loves to be around children and people. He is curious about cats, but is gentle and just wants to play with them. As you can see by his photo, Django enjoys chilling out on the sofa, so we would love to find him a home where he can continue to do what he is used to. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if Django sounds like the guy for you. Django will be ready to meet you at our adoption day at Mon Ami in Kirkland this Saturday February 22 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. If you need directions, please click on the scrolling link on our website. Story
Oso means bear in spanish and that’s exactly what this sweetheart is; a big cuddly bear! Oso is an 8-year-old senior tripod who is super sweet and affectionate and great with kids and other dogs! He was unfortunately hit by a car and his owner let him go too long without seeking treatment so by the time he got to the shelter the damage was too much and they had to amputate his front left leg. He is a mixed breed dog who would love nothing more than to be spoiled and loved the rest of his life! We are looking for someone with a fenced in yard with someone who is almost always home to help him acclimate to his new life, country, home, language and weather! 😊 Oso comes from a shelter in Mexico that has difficulty adopting larger breed dogs and older dogs! We are very happy to be partnering up with them so that they can send us as many dogs as possible, therefore opening up a place in their shelter and thus being able to take more homeless dogs off the street and find them homes!

Story
Bob was unfortunately born in a puppy mill and raised as a dog fighter. This poor sweet dog was never had his own loving family, although he was being fostered by the shelter owner for the past two and a half years, living with 3 small dogs and her 10-year-old daughter. Bob is better with females but still shouldn’t be in a home with dogs. He will defend himself if provoked and will attack the dog without warning. Bob is an extremely sweet dog but would do best in a home without any cats or dogs. He’s great with people and children and is very affectionate and obedient. Recently while on a walk another dog came to attack Bob by biting at his stomach, as soon as Bob defended himself and bit back the person walking Bob said “No” and Bob immediately retreated. Despite everything that Bob was put through because of a few horrible people, he is very fun loving and gets along great with everyone!
