Story
Heeeeere's Heidi! Heidi is a beautiful and sweet Shepherd mix. She is about 3 years old and came to us from Northern Manitoba. She has been living the good life in a wonderful foster home for the last few months where she has learned so much about being a dog and having fun! There are a couple things she doesn't find all that fun though - she panics on walks in the neighbourhood. She just can't seem to get used to everyday walking life. She can be somewhat reactive towards other dogs from afar, but if she is introduced properly she adjusts very well to pack life. Heidi would do great with some property so the pressure of neighbourhood antics wouldn't get to her. She would do well with another dog and the right dog is recommended for her!Heidi is a distemper survivor. Our vet believes she was infected some time ago and she is currently not contagious to other dogs. It's uncertain whether or not she will ever show symptoms later on in life, but right now she is your typical, loving, playful dog! We will be happy to answer any questions. If you feel you can give Heidi a loving, spacious home please fill out an online application or email info@allistonhumane.com She is absolutely lovely!

Story
Hi! My name is Kitten. I am a German Shepherd/Border Collie pup and I am approximately 14 months old. Unfortunately, I was born with a couple of birth defects. The first was not having control of my bowel movements as I was born without an anus. This caused me a great amount of pain as feces came out my vulva. The second was an abnormal shaped (corkscrew) tail. With the help of the shelter and a lot of fund raising, I underwent reconstructive surgery and my tail was amputated too. My doctor was unsure if I'd ever have enough muscle to control my bowels but so far, I'm at about 80%! I wear diapers when I'm out and about in my foster home - only time will tell if I get 100% control. Despite all the challenges I've been faced with I am super happy and sweet girl! I love cuddle time, walks, and playing ball. I get along with most other dogs. I am protective of my toys and I love my foster brother! My manners when approaching new dogs on my walks need some work and I am willing to work on that. I am looking for a very special person that I can smoother with affection cause that's what life's all about right?Kitten - German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, 14 months old, Artesia Ani and Rectovaginal Fistula survivor! If you may be interested in adopting a sweet, special little girl like Kitten, please fill out an online application or email info@allistonhumane.com
