Story

This dog and cat are very good buddies and should stay together if possible. Snickers is 11, and still a very healthy, active dog. She is definitely all Beagle (has AKC papers), nose to the ground and generally not coming when called. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old and could fit her into the pocket of my hoodie. She loves to be outside and sniffing all the good things. She is happy to sleep in her own bed, but is even happier to sleep in your bed under the covers if you let her. Typical Beagle, very into snugging with people. Her cat is named Blaze who I got as a kitten 3 years ago to keep Snickers company when I was not home. He is a very affectionate cat and a brutally efficient mouser (handy if you live in the country). So why would I want to part from this wonderful duo? After 16 years of being a single dad and not having a relationship, an amazing woman has come onto the scene. With terrible dog/cat allergies. It's the pets or her. I chose her.

Jax is estimated to be 1-3 years old and weighs around 8 lb. He came from a home with 6 other small dogs living in a condemned home that needed immediate rescue. He takes a few days to settle in and feel safe but can you blame him? Once he is settled, he is a very sweet, very affectionate lap dog. In true chi fashion, he’s pretty opinionated. He will growl at other dogs if they try and steal his pets and he lets his foster mom know that wiping muddy paws is not something he enjoys. He is good with other dogs his size but would be fine as an only dog as well. He will need to be fed separately since he will growl at others that try and share his meal. That’s to be expected as he was probably always wondering when his next meal would come. Jax is not a fan of being left alone and will bark and howl but thankfully calms down after a little bit. Because of this, an apartment is probably not ideal. He likes his crate or as we refer to it, his man cave. He is mostly potty trained but since he is not neutered, he will need to wear a belly band until he is fixed. Jax will need to go to a home with older, dog savvy children that understand how to respect the space of a tiny fellow. Sawyer ❤️ he came from a cold shelter floor to a warm HH foster’s lap ☺️....he is ready for adoption now..... Sawyer is a fun loving energetic 6 year old little boy. He is great with people, kids and all sizes of dogs. Cats take a bit but he can get along a cat. He enjoys walks and snuggling. Would do best with other little dogs in the home to play with. He was an owner surrender to the shelter because of his potty issues. Come to find out he just had a UTI and just needed some urinary food. HH got him all fixed up and no issues anymore.
