Story
Obi Wan Kanobee is a very cool dog! He is a mixed small terrier breed and is about 8 years old. He has Cushings disease which is managed with medication and he also takes a thyroid medication. For this reason, he is considered a “special needs” dog. His medications run about $75 a month. Obi is a funny dog with lots of character! He has learned good manners since he has been in foster care. He is housetrained now but has on occasion lifted his leg on the corner of things in his foster home. They are working with him on that. He is good on a leash and is also very active and playful. He is not a clingy lap dog, he prefers to lay next to you rather on you, but he does like to follow his humans around the house and know that they are around. He is not destructive and he is not much of a barker unless another dog is barking (his furry foster sister!). He gets along well with other dogs and is a bit too curious about cats. He would not harm a cat but if a cat does not stand up for itself and give him a good swipe and a hiss, then he will give the cat a hard time and the cat will be stressed. He also likes to sneak into cat food. Food….Obi is VERY food driven. He is limited to one cup of food per day and eats out of a special “slow down” bowl to avoid gas issues and bloat. He is an opportunist and will find food on his own. If you drop a pat of butter…he is ON it! Obi is very friendly with all people but we think a home with older children is best because he is not very gentle when taking treats or his pills. We don’t want to take the chance that little toddler hands get hurt by Obi. Obi likes to run out the front door and go down the street so he needs a place where older children will be mindful of doors, etc. Obi is full of life and despite his special needs status, he will bring you lots of laughter because he is just a clown of a dog who shows his joy for life every chance he gets! He is very good at the vet and with the groomer. Obi is neutered, current on all vaccines including rabies and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $150, and if you would like to know more about him or apply to adopt him, please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Elvis Elvis is a happy fawn English Mastiff. He suddenly found himself without a home; unfortunately, he wasn't placed properly and was moved 2 more times.  Elvis needs a stable home that will give him the attention he needs and craves.  He would love a stay at home person or someone that can take with with to work. He is crate trained.  Has prefect house manners and loves to go for rides.  Elvis does need further leash training.  He gets over excited when he sees a kitty; so no kitties for him.  With other dogs, he needs a slow dog introduction.  He also gets over excited with other dogs.  Elvis doesn't like dogs that immediately get in his face. If you are interested in Elvis or any of our fosters, please go to our website at www.mastiffrescueoregon.org, click on adoption info and submit an application online. All of our fosters are in private homes.  An application must be on file and an appointment made prior to any meet and greets.
