Story
Batley is three years old and current on rabies shot. She does well with kids and other dogs. We had to take on three of my sons dogs and have one of our own and can’t manage all of them. Trying to find a good home !! We recently retired and are in need of help so they don’t end up in a shelter! She is a good dog just in need of some attention!

Story
Leo is 2 years old and has been with us since he was about 8 weeks. He’s very playful, loves the attention and to be babied. He loves sleeping with someone always. When he needs to go outside he will either stand by the door and/or whine, or basically tell you in his on way. If he does something wrong like having an accident in the house he runs to the bedroom and gets in bed with a sad face. He snores (LOUD sometimes). He gets pretty jumpy when he hears people at the door Knocking and starts barking. He’s not violent and has never bitten or tried to bite anybody. When he plays he likes to nibble on your hand but if you say “no bite or Leo no bites” he stops.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Clancy was brought into the shelter as a stray, so we know very little about his past. Clancy loves attention! He is true to his Coonhound breed and can be quite vocal at times, so apartment living would not be for him. Clancy loves to play outside and follow his nose,so he will need to be supervised at all times when he is outside, even in a fenced yard as he can and will jump them when left alone. Clancy is a love bug and enjoys having his ears rubbed! Clancy is a big goofy guy so he may be too much for small children in the home if they are not used to larger energetic dogs. Clancy would love to meet you and show you what a sweet boy he is!

Story
Wayne was brought into the shelter as a stray, so we know very little about his past. Wayne is around 2 years old and currently weighs in at 46 lbs, but he does need to gain more. When Wayne arrived he had a bad case of fleas and was missing a fair amount of fur from his hind end. He was treated for the fleas and his fur has started to grow back. It was noted during a bath that his eyes weren't quite right. His right eye didn't seem to want to stay still, it constantly had small movements to it called nystagmus. He was checked by the Vet and we are still not quite sure of what the cause of it is. It was determined that Wayne does have some sight loss and he may eventually lose his sight altogether. Wayne is a sweet and gentle boy. He loves attention but can be timid when he first meets you. He does warm up to new people rather quickly, even more so with treats! Wayne is a special guy that would love to find that special someone soon! Wayne does seem to enjoy outside time and a fenced in yard would be a good thing for his potential adopters to have.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application Due to COVID-19, many of our veterinarians have restricted access to non-emergency services.   As a result, we have not been able to have some of our dogs spayed/neutered prior to adoption, which causes the dog to stay in foster care, and prevents rescue of another dog in need of foster care.  With many other shelters and rescues closing down, we want and need, to continue to save lives.  For a limited time, intact dogs may be available to adopt on a Foster-to-Adopt basis, dependent on the adopter's location and ability to travel to our partner clinics when they are fully operational.   Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to determine appropriate placement.    Under no circumstances will an intact dog be placed in a home with an intact dog of the opposite sex.    Please email mastiffstomutts@gmail.com for further details, if you would like to consider this option to adopt.  Shuri is friendly, but cautious as she settles into her foster home and they learn more about her.  Willingly waits to be on a leash to go outside.  Likes - will pick up a stuffed toy and carry it to her special place, enjoys walks on leash Dislikes - loud noises as this causes her to run to the house and want back inside Personality  - very shy currently. She needs patience in order to gain trust. Temperament- easily takes medication when they are hidden in small balls made of canned wet food.  Prefers kibble mixed with wet food. Did well at the visit to vet and stood still for exam. Energy level to be determined. House trained- not yet but may be partially due to currently being treated for UTI and she is afraid to go outdoors to potty. Periods of time outside with other dogs watching them potty but she will come back inside and go on a designated rug. Not cat tested.   Crate trained- She sleeps through the night with her foster sibling dogs in the bedroom.  Shuri has not been crated because she doesn't like to be alone and everyone is currently home. Medical issues- currently being treated for UTI Best home would be with another canine companion for increased confidence and to show her the ropes.  She gets along well with her 4 Newfie foster siblings. She seeks them out at bedtime and for companionship. A lower activity home appears to be best for her as we learn more about her and her personality appears. Fostered in Wooster, OH.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our funds are used for rescuing the dogs. Our rescue policy requires the following: Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and and parts of New York. We will not adopt a giant breed dog to homes where the dog will have access to highly varnished hardwood steps inside the home. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked. All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home. All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home. Any dog(s) in the applicant's home must have an introductory meeting with the rescue dog being considered, before any adoption can be completed. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption. Exceptions to this policy can be found on the Adoptable Dog Page.
