Story
Oh sweet Holly! This beautiful girl walked up to a persons home in Mississippi close to Christmas.... limping. Turns out she has a broken hip and is heartworm positive. This dog is so sweet and kind. She smiles, she’s always wagging her tail. We are having her see a specialist for the leg and then she will go thru Heartworm treatment. After that she will be spayed. Because of the painful leg problem, we would prefer Holly be in a home with no other animals. She needs a quiet place to heal. We are currently looking for a foster home or foster to adopt. If you would like more info about what that entails, please text 570-903-1731. You can apply for Holly at www.nepapetrescue.com.

Story
Snoopy is a 5 year old bichon from NJ. He is fully vetted, microchipped, neutered. Snoopy may be epileptic. He had four seizures in one day in early November 2019 and was immediately put on phenobarbital. In order to find out exactly what is wrong with him, he needs an MRI which cost $2000. We do not have money like that and there’s nothing that can be done regardless of what they find. Our veterinarian feels he either has a brain tumor which caused the seizures or epilepsy which caused the seizures. Snoopy is very loving and sweet and always wags his tail. He is also quirky and at times, unaware of his surroundings. He would easily walk in front of a car, get burned on a open stove, walk between the legs of his owner. He is excellent with other dogs. Snoopy will also occasionally mark inside and have an accident. His foster mom is using belly bands and they are working. Snoopy is not the right dog for just anyone. He needs an owner that will understand he is high maintenance and be ok with that. He will prob need to be on meds for the rest of his life. We would waive the adoption fee for the right home if requested. Please text 570–903–1731 to discuss Snoopy‘s medical issues and quirky traits in further detail. You can also apply for him on our website at www.nepapetrescue.com. Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Snoopy may be epileptic. He had 4 seizures in one day in early November 2019 and was immediately put on phenobarbital. The veterinarian feels he either has epilepsy or a brain tumor and an MRI costs $2000. He probably needs to stay on meds for the rest of his life.

Story
Who wants to adopt a whacky wierdo? HAHA! Bella is a Husky/Herding breed mix who we placed as a puppy. She was returned due to the owner having an illness and could no longer care for her. She has since been placed twice and returned for nipping. Bella has been in her current foster home for about 8 months and has had zero nipping but she does have some minor issues. Bella is cage aggressive. She is a dog where everything as to be on her terms. We will only place her in a dog savvy home that knows how to work with a quirky canine. She seems to show her weirdness when in a new home. Bella is housebroken, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She does not like cats but is very playful with other dogs. Bella is crate trained and would do best with a fenced yard or an active family that will take her on walks. She might love hiking or lots of outdoor activities. No kids and no cats. Donations can be available for immediate use if sent to Northeast PA Pet Fund and Rescue via PayPal nepapetfund@gmail.com All adoption fees go towards getting the dog up-to-date on all shots, bordetella, spay/neuter, micro-chip, and all vet visits to get them healthy! Please text 570-357-8032 for more info or fill out an application on https://nepapetrescue.com/

Story
Dixie is a really cool 12 year old min pin about 20-22 lbs. She originally a Jersey girl and found her way to our rescue in PA. Dixie is very chill. She likes to sleep, lay around, hang out. She is low maintenance. Dixie has minor health problems. Basically the stuff that goes along with old age. She really just needs a place to relax for whatever time she has left to enjoy her golden years. Older kids or no kids would be best bc she’s too old to play hard with small children
