Story
We dare you to watch this video and look at our new pics of these two amazing dogs and not immediately apply to make them your own - you just can't do it, it's not possible.https://youtu.be/QPuUDmV2aH0https://youtu.be/NMROGooBmY8 If you are interested in learning more about Thunder and Sunshine please email gottalovdogs@yahoo.comSweet sweet and very bonded siblings who come from the streets of Aruba and have made their way to the safety and comfort of their foster family in Western Massachusetts.  Sunshine and her brother Thunder were found living under a car in Aruba - Thunder has a mobility issue where his hind legs are weak and he isn't able to work - his sister Sunshine stuck by him and no doubt protected him when needed. Thunder was lucky enough to land with a foster who has been working very hard to see what mobility he may be able to get back - so far we have learned that he is NOT paralyzed - his bladder and bowel function is perfectly normal.  He's been to a neurologist who was encouraging about his ability to perhaps walk again but a formal diagnoses remains out of reach.  He's been attending physical therapy twice a week hoping to strengthen his legs but thus far it appears he will not be walking on his own.  BUT, he doesn't know any better and thus his life will go on.   He will be fitted for wheels shortly which will make a huge improvement in his mobility although as you can see from this video, he gets around just fine and loves playing with his sister.Thunder and Sunshine must be adopted together - their bond is quite strong but they also love the humans caring for them and being part of a family.  Their adjustment to living inside and not on the street fending for themselves has been going quite well.  House training is still a work in progress but is going great!! The love playing with each other and the other dogs in their foster home - they've learned that mom's whistle means come in OR even better, it's time for dinner!!Thunder can negotiate small stairs - ideally living on a ground floor with easy access in/out maybe using a ramp would perfect.Name: Thunder & SunshineBreed: Shepherd/Beagle mixesAge: 1 - 1 1/2 years Weight:  23 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative at last testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs:  YesGood with Cats: UnknownIMPORTANT INFORMATION:Interested in a specific dog, please fill out an application if you are interested in a dog. Story
FOSTERING LOCAL IN NEW ENGLAND!!!Hello, my name is Zeus. If you’re looking for a sweet dog with a kind heart and good manners, I’m your guy. I get along really great with other dogs, big or small, and absolutely would love another dog or dogs in my forever home! In fact, this is a requirement for my adoption. I feel much safer and comfortable being in a home with another dog.I have a gentle temperament and even like cats. Humans are great too, especially when they are dog people. Kids make me a little nervous. They are often very loud and jumpy and don’t respect my space. I am naturally sensitive and pick up the vibes of my environment. I am currently living in a happy home with three other dogs, a blind cat, and my foster mom. We all get along and life is good. My bestie is a Chihuahua. I really love little dogs! Even though I am happy in my foster home, I would be so grateful for a home of my very own. I am potty trained, good on leash, playful, and well behaved. I have some anxiety in busy environments, with strange people, or at the vet. But my anxiety has been managed very well by my foster mom, who makes me feel safe and loved, so I don’t get triggered these days as easily as in my past life. Having another dog in the house helps a lot with my anxiety. I am smart and know basic commands. I’d love to learn new things, especially if treats are involved. I love food and am a good boy when food is around. During feeding time, my foster mom will give me the “place” command, and I will obediently go to my place and bunny hop until she puts my food down. Hence my nickname, Zeus Bunny. If you’d like to meet me, please submit an application. Story
'She has a gentle way of resting her chin on my knee or arm when seeking affection.'' This is from Callie's foster mom, Nancy, who several weeks ago picked up a dog who barely made eye contact, was anxious and untrusting. Life hasn't always been kind to Callie - found abandoned in a parking lot at six months old, she was lucky enough to be fostered and then adopted by one of our volunteers. Sadly, though Callie recently lost her mom; family members tried keeping Callie, but her anxiety made it not viable so they reached out for help and off she went to Nancy's house to start the next phase of her life.It has taken some time but this girl has come so far and is ready to move to a home with her new forever person - ideally someone who has all the time in the world just for her, time to give her to adjust and who will understand it might take several weeks for her to rest her chin on your knee. Callie is approximately 7 years old, a plott hound mix, approx. 50 lbs. Those are just the basics. What's important about her is the way she looks at you, how she wiggles when she sees you and how she lets you know when she trusts you by resting her head on your lap.... Callie is a total sweetheart. She walks well on a leash and that's a good thing because, although a bit timid, she absolutely loves to go for walks! If you have room in your home and your heart for a sweet and deserving girl in need please consider Callie - watching her learn to trust you will do your own heart good.Name: CallieBreed: Plott Hound mixSex: FemaleAge: 7-8 yearsWeight: 61 poundsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: NegativeMicrochipped: YesMedical: Is on Prozac daily due to anxiety and was started on allergy shots due to red eyes. MORE PUPPIES!!! Rescue volunteers responded to a report of a mother dog chained in a yard with 9 puppies running around an area full of dangerous debris. They got permission to removed the puppies from the location. The mother was a larger dog that looked like a bird dog/pit mix. The litter of puppies are, basically two sizes. Some are considerably smaller than the others. The smaller ones resemble Boston Terriers. They are happy, healthy puppies that will soon be looking for amazing homes with adventure filled lives. The pups are outgoing and friendly to people. Foster mom handles them a lot. The smaller ones are: Reavis, Silva, Jenga, and Salem. The large ones are Hombre, Artie, Face, Fia, and Trina. They are all typical puppies and will need a family committed to the time and energy a pup requires! Hombre is the most laid back and Fia is the most dominant. We are still watching their personalities develop and will continue to update as it does!
