“I am beautifulNo matter what they sayWords can't bring me downI am beautifulIn every single way...”Little Lucille embodies this song. She had vasculitis when she first came into rescue and will never get all her hair back completely. Lucille still has a quiet, dignified beauty on the inside and outside.Oh boy, on the inside she is breathtaking!! Sweet and loving, Lucille doesn’t know a stranger. She’ll plop down in your lap like you’ve been BFF’s for years. She is quite simply a joy to be around.Interested in adopting Lucille from Bastrop Animal Rescue? Story
Hello, Muffin here! I’m a sweet little female terrier mix. I’m a tiny...about 6-7 pounds. I have longish black and white hair. I have a cute patch of black hair around my left eye. It gives me that mysterious bandita look. But don’t worry, I’m not a bandit. I’m actually a super shy girl! New things scare me, and it takes me awhile to warm up to new people, but I’m a real cuddle bug once I trust you! I like other dogs, but they scare me at first too. I’m partial to small dogs since they are less likely to step on me. I like children okay after I start to trust them, but I prefer older kids. They are much more predictable. I’m house trained to a dog door. I’m crate trained, and I like my crate, but my foster mom and dad let me sleep in their bed with them! I don’t bark much, except when I chase squirrels. I had heart worms when BAR rescued me, but they took me to the vet for medicine, and I’m all better now.To meet me apply here: www.bastropanimalrescue.orgInterested in adopting a pet from Bastrop Animal Rescue? Story
Duke is a very sweet, loving boy who needs a forever home where he can relax away from other dogs. He loves to cuddle and hang out on the couch, is house trained, good on a leash, and loves to spend time with people he has gotten comfortable with. He was dumped on my property a while back, and I have been trying to work with him on getting along with other dogs. It has become obvious that other dogs, especially active ones, give him too much anxiety and he is not relaxed when other dogs are around. Losing his eye made his anxiety worse, and he needs a calm environment where he can be comfortable. It breaks my heart to rehome him, but I hope that he can find a forever home where he can be relaxed and happy.

Story
I rescued Patty from the local shelter. Unfortunately, my son is highly allergic to her. She is so sweet, loves to be a constant companion. She is also very quiet. She IS house trained, knows basic commands and prefers to be inside. A great addition to any family or person looking for a loving new family member.

Evie is a sweet and smart dog, sadly we can’t keep her because of monetary issues and the landlord will not allow her to stay much longer. I’d love to find my sweet girl a good loving home.
