Story
We rescued Izzy from a shelter about 5 years ago. At the time they said she was about 3 so that would make her 8 now, she seems like she might be older though. She is a very sweet dog and all she wants to do is lie around a snuggle, she’s low maintenance and since we’ve had her she’s been quite lazy. She does well with cats and with infants and children. She’s overweight and would require some help with that and she does have allergies that make her itchy frequently. Izzy needs an owner who likes to be home a lot and can give her lots of love. A home with other pets is also a plus, she likes to have a companion. A decent yard would be great as she loves to lay around in the sun. As she’s a senior it would be nice for her to have a wonderful last few years. I started having allergy issues recently and nothing is helping so sadly we have to rehome her.

Story
Freeway is a big handsome lunk of love! I bet you can't guess how he came about his name! Ha! Freeway's history is unknown so from rescued on an interstate, to the vet to rescue is how we've gotten to know him. He was a gentleman at the vet in boarding for about 2 weeks. Didn't react to any dogs barking at him at all. He was introduced to the pack at rescue and did fine as well. He is a BIG boy. He does not jump on people. He does like to give kisses and he barks because he is out in the kennel and not in the house! He really wants to be chillin' on the couch with you. He has a "knot" on his rear leg and a scar so maybe he had an injury at one time. Doesn't seem to bother him or affect his mobility. He is fixed, up to date on shots, heart worm negative and ready for a home of his own. Please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms. Please note all dogs are located in San Antonio, TX. We advertise out of state due to the critical pet overpopulation problem here in the south. We use Rescue Road Trips to transport the dogs to your area. They are all up to date and come with a health certificate. The fee is $170 adoption and $185 transportation = $355. Thank you for considering adopting a southern dog. Please also note that we are not able to adopt to MA due to the states quarantine requirements for out of state dogs. We apologize for this

Story
Woof!  My name is Gertrude!  I am a sweet, strong lovebug with lots of personality.  People and treats are my motivators.  At 75 pounds of muscle, I can be a little intimidating but don't let that fool you.  All I want is attention!  Like many dogs with my background, I have had some skin issues (which is why I have so many shaved spots) but I am recovering nicely and hope my new family will make sure this does not happen again.  I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. In response to the social distancing recommendations from the CDC and WHO, the Roanoke Valley SPCA is modifying our adoption procedures.  If you are interested in adopting me, please download and complete an RVSPCA Adoption Application 2020.  Email or fax to 540-342-6730 your application and a copy of your picture ID to our adoption staff.  Our adoption staff will give you a call to schedule an appointment.  Call 540-339-9247 Monday - Saturday between Noon and 7 pm to speak with an adoption counselor for more information.
