Story
We, sadly, do not have much history on Nilo as he came to us after being found as a stray. Nilo's finders stated he likes pets all over, once he is comfortable in your home with you, playful and all around affectionate. From his time with us here we can tell you he loves playing with his human/s, he likes to hop into your arms if you are not giving him the attention he is requesting at that exact moment, and he has got the cutest little face! Nilo would love to meet you and become a new member of your family today! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

Story
Farrah has been in foster care with her siblings Jaclyn and Kelly, but It's time to move on so they're waiting by the foster's phone, waiting for the call that someone wants to adopt a kitten! Farrah's foster says that Farrah is a forever adventurer who marches to the beat of her own drum. She is constantly on the lookout for an adventure and absolutely loves exploring every inch of the world around her. She is always up for a good play session and when she finally tuckers herself out, she will search out her humans to snuggle in tight for a deep, relaxing, loving nap. Farrah is a super happy kitten that plays and explores just as hard as she loves - and cannot wait to share all of that with her new family! If you're thinking about adopting multiple kittens, her siblings would be the purrfect match. Why not double or triple your fun? If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of three ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! Story
Are you looking for a sweet cat who may take a bit to warm up but when they do gets the ultimate zoomies when you come home, is playful, more like a dog, and looooves his people? Nene is your guy! Nene has never lived with other animals so we do not know how he will do BUT we think with a slow introduction put into place he can be successful. Nene has lived with younger kids and allowed them to pet and play with him but he does get nervous when the children cry so he may prefer to live with older kids. Nene would really love to meet you today! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Story
Meet the new fire lord, Zuko! He's not as confident as his cartoon inspiration but he will still melt your heart with his love. he is a quiet cat who is independent. He likes to do his own thing and lounge around the house. He has lived with another cat but never a dog so go slow if you have a canine friend in the home. Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water.
