Looking to rehome my 2.5 year old German Shepard mix. I recently got a second job and although it breaks my heart, i know she needs to be with someone that will have more time for her. She is very sweet and cuddly. She is very energetic and needs a lot of exercise. She is very smart and knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. She does like to jump up on people and counters and would need some more training. She has some separation anxiety and gets anxious in her kennel. lists her as 50% Sheltie/German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees) who was returned from the home we placed her in due to guarding issues. She is sweet and loves attention (a lap dog wanna-be). She is good off leash, is house and crate trained and has good house manners. Roxy is definetely a watch dog and barks to let you know if anything is going on (wildlife, visitors, noises). We see a lot of GSD and G. Pyr. traits in her and she doesn't tolerate aggressive "training" methods. She would be best in a home with no other dogs or a tolerant dog that isn't interested in resource guarding. She currently lives with 6 other dogs and only has issues with the other resource guarder. She is also currently living with dog savvy cats that don't run from dogs but we are hesitant to say she is completely cat safe. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.If you are looking for a best friend for your whole family, then Tikaani might be the pup for you! Although she had a rough start and was living outside for some time, there is nothing that she likes more than hanging out with people. She loves to sit beside you on the couch while you read or watch TV. She also might be found at your feet if you are working at your desk. She really want to be a good girl, and comes and sits on command. She is also learning to shake. She is food-motivated, and would be very trainable with treats and praise. She’s been working hard on potty-training and has learned to hold it until she gets outside most of the time. Tikaani has done really well with all of the people in our family, including playing tug-of-war and chase with our 8-year-old son. She also tolerates cats very well. The only thing she seems unsure of is other dogs. She wants to be the alpha, and hasn't had a lot of experience living with other dogs so she would need a patient house mate or she would be fine as an only dog. She has gotten better at this though. Tikaani sleeps in a crate at night, but would probably love to sleep beside people, if given the chance. She loves going on walks and riding in the car. She also enjoys chasing tennis balls and bringing them back in exchange for a treat. Tikaani is about a year old and appears to be part German shepherd and part Lab (she eats like a Lab!). She is a very good girl, and would love to find her forever home soon! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
